As they orbited the beach, Shamu watched the hotel collapse on the feed from the Sniper pod.  As the call for their next target came in, he radioed, "Alright 3, you're up.  JDAM on that two-story building.  4, nail those BMPs."

    "Roger that.  Three's in hot."

    "Four's in hot."

Viper's F-14 rolled in to the two-story building, the GBU-31 falling away as the Tomcat banked right over the beach back to the holding orbit, streaming chaff and flares.

Meanwhile, Breaker locked onto the BMPs before clearing Red to fire.  "Basilisk 4, ripple Rifle."  With that, a quartet of Brimstones streaked away from the belly of the F-14, heading towards their kill box to seek out the BMPs.

Mark got hit call for a target: a small office building that was housing a sniper. He came at the target head-on to give his GBU-12 the optimum angle. Well off the beach the pilot painted the target with his pod and released just as well in advance to give the Paveway plenty of space to travel to its target. even if the dust messed with the laser, the bomb would hopefully ride it in on ballistics and whatnot.

"Shogun 205, pickle." He declared, deploying flares and chaff in anticipation. the Kedhanis had to be getting smart by now.

He also knew that a few SA-19s remained an a good number of troops with SA-24s. One of the former  blasted away at him with its cannons as he banked up and away, getting off a missile as well but too. Mark deployed more flares and broke to the right rolling over and towards the ground briefly to get out of the missile's way. It tilted towards him but missed, going off into the sky. Mark yanked himself skywards again and ran for the sea.

On the beach below the Marine had established a fighting line and with the heavy support being brought to bear on the BMPs and entrenched Kedhani troops, they would be able to get their own tanks ashore via LCACs.

Eric, in the meantime, was requested to designate a target for a flight of incoming A-10s, who'd been tasked with stemming some of the heavier forces rolling towards the fight. He'd placed himself high and away from the fight to see things, and frowned as he spotted the forward elements. The Kedhanis were screening with SA-19s and BTRs while formations of T-90 MBTs followed them, protected by more mobile AAA. He relayed a message to the FAC that some naval gunfire might be in order.

Irenee and Estelle roll their Mirages in to attack the enemy cavalry force, with Magalie and Willard staying high for top cover.

"Faucon! Pickle! Pickle!" Irenee called out as he dropped a few of his Mk.82 bombs on the enemy cavalry.

"Moineau! Pickle!" Estelle called as she followed suit. The two Mirages climb to gain as much altitude as possible.

Sunny heard the plea from the embattled Marine, and prepared to assist.

"Copy Musketeer 2-3, we'll get them" Sunny replied then started issuing orders.

"Okay 3 and 4 hang back. Two activate your pod and find the bastards."

"Copy lead, searching now." The Sapin-Osean pilot replied as she activated the Sniper Pod attached to the right side of her fuselage. Locating the source of the fire was vital to an accurate drop. . . and the arguably just as important task as preventing fratricide.

After a few tense moments punctuated by the sound of battle coming from the radio traffic on the ground, Rosie located Sunny Flight's first victims of the sortie.

"Lead found them, slaving now" Rosie saw the soldiers scurrying around their weapons.

"Right, going in now. Musketeer 2-3, bomb in Sunny descended into a shallow dive towards the position of the mortars, selecting one of the GBU-12s, saving the larger bombs for worthier game.

"Sunny 1, pickle!" Sunny called and the guided bomb dropped from the F-21, following the laser to hopefully right on top of the mortar men.

The detracked SA-19 was abandoned before it was finished off, but either way killed. In the meantime two soldiers armed with SA-24s sent their missiles at Broadswords 3 and 4 from below, being closer to them than the Grisons that were trying to survive the attacks from above. The one that hadn't been fired on targeted Broadsword 2 and opened fire with guns and two missiles after sneaking in close, while his partner put a building between him and the Maverick fired at him. He appeared on the other side and speed for open ground, rolling into range to shoot at the aircraft that was trying to kill him.

Basilisk's luck was also running thin. The Kedhani MANPAD gunners, growing keen quickly on their tactics, had waited for Viper and Red to start their runs. When they did, they fired, shooting head on in Basilik 4's case with two weapons. It didn't save the BMPs, which disgorged as much infantry as they could before their demise. It didn't save the building, either, but it resulted in two missiles arcing up at Basilik 3's flanks.

From his position, James saw the F-21s as they streaked over. He also heard the sound of a missile going skywards, but he couldn't get a bead on the guy who'd fired. Under the impact of the weapons and with their fire prevailing, the Marine rifle squads advanced into the actual town. the mortars hadn't stood a chance against the attacked, but now Sunny had an SA-24 on him. Another went for his number two.

Compared to the Kedhani's SA-24, the Mistral was better wired to fight countermeasures, meaning it was only slightly wavered by the flares trailing from the F-16s. It was their maneuvering that came in handy and gave them a chance. In the meantime, as the Crotales were tracking the F-16s to back up their failing Mistrals, Emmerian warships off the coast were being directed to fire on them with missiles, which would be off in a matter of minutes. For now all the aircraft attacking could do was stay nimble and hit what they could.

The lead elements of the force, Type 96 APCs locally modified to bear 25mm cannons, were hit but not stopped. three vehicles took disabling hits, while the other three kept on, some even firing back at the Mirages. The two Type 87s escorting them joined the retaliation, stopping and selecting one Mirage each before opening fire. One of the Ustian Mirages targeted one and fired an AS.30.

At 10,000 feet, the two F-14s were already near the SA-24's 11,000 foot ceiling.  As soon as the missile launch alert blared, Viper and Red both climbed to 13,000 feet, streaming flares and their towed decoys, while aggressively maneuvering to get back over the water and to safety.

Meanwhile Azure grunted against the G's, "Boss, we gotta do something about these fucking Iglas!"

Shamu replied, "I know.  Cherry Picker, requesting permission to engage hostile MANPADS positions with cluster.  If not, could we get some destroyers to open up on those fuckers?"

Off the coast, members of Excalibur's flotilla had each fired a single Tomahawk towards the incoming tide of Kedhani armor. Eric witnessed it in part as one of the long missiles, normally meant for hitting strategic targets, was shore-horned into playing SEAD. They struck with quite the bang, too, but the T-90s, BTRs, and BMPs continued to roll forward, with more SA-19s in tow. Without waiting for the A-10s, he beckoned the rest of Shogun flight and targeted one of the Grisons for a Paveway.

"Shogun 208, bomb away." He announced.

The weapon glided down towards one of the surviving SA-19s, which fired back wantonly at him. He applied the simple tactic of staying high and let his bomb impact before pushing on. Mark came in next, and like his squadmate chose a mobile AA gun to get. With his distinct drawl he told the world his next GBU was off and fled the scene. The next two VF-138 jets targeted the scout elements of the Kedhani force to slow it, successfully knocking out two BTRs and scaring the formation into breaking up.

After avoiding the Mistrals; the four F-16's ascended into the sky to get some distance between them and the MANPADS that fired on them, Zack and his flight immediately took further action as their RWR began to chirp as the Shamlaki's Crotale launchers began to track them. Zack radioed to the pack.

"All callsigns this is Ferret, grab some sky and keep yourselves agile as you egress feet wet, we'll wait for naval gun and missile fire to wipe out the SAM threat before conducting our runs again. Get to 23K AGL and keep your countermeasures at the ready, music up!"

"This is Hime, copy. I feel a little useless right now. We can't do anything until those missiles are gone."

"Don't worry about being useful, for now. Stay alive."

"You know Zack if I wanted spam salad I would just ask your grandma for that rank ass shit she made for your family reunion a couple years ago." Alyosha howled in frustration.

"Hey now, don't say that too loud she might just come back from the dead to slap the shit out of you." Zack smirked as their Falcons raced out over the water and towards the safety of a higher ceiling. Zack couldn't help but feel frustrated as his aircraft we're under the threat of being fired on again, all he could do is wait for the FAC's call to the fleet to be answered with a hailstorm in the direction of those SAM's.

Rosie watched her flight lead's bomb impact the unfortunate mortar position.

"Two to lead, right on target." She complemented then note in horror as a pair of shoulder launched missiles headed towards them.

"Sunny 1, MANPAD launch 7 o'clock low!" Rosie warned and banked into as hard of a right turn as her heavily laden F-21 would let her, all the while launching chaff and flares.

Sunny heard the warning from his wingwoman and his own RWR, and turned in the opposite direction of Rosie while launching countermeasures of his own.

God I hope these guys aren't good with maintaining their weapons. Sunny thought as he mentally crossed his fingers.

The Marine aircraft went defensive, spreading flares and rapidly trying to get out of range of the AAA guns by jinking violently to the left and right. Riley fired another Maverick at the fast moving SA-19 and then broke away, streaming more flares.

"We've been trying to nail em all morning, Basilisk, but the fuckers have been shooting from one building, then hiding and popping up elsewhere. You'll have to deal with em until the Marines get a firm grip on the city." the FAC replied. Her tone suggested his question had been asked once or twice by other aircraft.

The last SA-19 made its mistake in heading for open ground, which lead to its death. As revenge two more MANPADs were sent towards the closest members of Broadsword flight before their shooters again disappeared into the cityscape.

In the meantime the focus became the enemy reinforcements falling upon the beach. The Marines had a firm foothold and LCACs bearing M1A2 main battle tanks were being readied to come ashore. The only matter was making sure they didn't get plucked as they went from ship to sand. The problem was the fresh reinforcements had plenty of SAMs to spare.

Sunny didn't have to worry about the Kedhani's maintaining their weapons. the SA-24's probability of kill was severely knocked down when flares and violent maneuvers were introduced into the equation. The weapons provided him and his flight no more than a few seconds of terror, considering they'd reacted properly.

On the ground, James could hear his breathing even above the gunfire as they got past the first city block of their objective. He aimed high and nailed a man trying to shoot from a roof. From their current position the JTAC couldn't easily spot targets; they needed high ground.

"Hooper, take Brad, Taylor, and our airdale liaison here and secure this building. Those bastards have to have more mortars!" the sergeant barked as he went back into cover to reload.

Prophetic as it was, the garrison did, and was setting them up to fire. The adhoc assault team, not wanting to risk civilians, was forced to go in without tossing in a grenade. Instead they opted on smoke.

While the Emmerian ships were not equipped with the kind of cruise missiles Osean and Yuktobanian ones had, they still had ship-to-shore capability. At the request of their airborne friends, two destroyers each launched two missiles. Both had a short distance to travel, and the land-based Crotale's were distracted by the aircraft above. The landing craft offshore were treated to a small show as the weapons impacted, to which they cheered. With that the order was given to land the first wave of Emmerian naval infantry. The craft moved forward, carrying light AFVs and stern-faced men armed with the latest variant of the FAMAS rifle and the M240 machine gun. True to their traditions, many had their berets on them, and their faces smeared with camouflage.

At the same time the helicopters made their move for their LZ, and Canis was give its next task. The Shamlakis had artillery well back that'd been hidden until now. Usean-built AS-90s, two batteries ready to stop the landing. Their crews scurried about the SPGs as shells were loaded and coordinates relayed.

As Cherry Picker relayed the bad news, Shamu swore over the intercom.  "GODDAMNIT!"

Sharky said, "Chill, bro.  we've just gotta stay above the shit."

"Yeah."  Switching back to the squadron channel, Shamu radioed, "Alright, everybody, stick as close to 13k AGL as you can.  Too much clutter for us to nail these asswipes."

    "Two."

    "Three."

    "Four copies."

Shamu called Cherry Picker again, "Alright, Cherry Picker, Basilisk requesting further tasking."

As the missiles from the Emmerian destroyers impacted the shore based defenses, much of the tension that had built up in Canis flight began to ease off as the comms began to fill with enthusiastic calls of good hits on the Shamlaki defenders allowing the air assault force and their marine counterparts to make landfall without facing overwhelming resistance. The four Gunship Grey Lawn Darts banked a hard left and came back over land to conduct their CAS mission.

"Burn motherfuckers burn!" Alyosha howled after the missile strike.

"Get a grip Aly, we're not out of this yet. Lead what's our next target?" Mao called.

Just as Mao asked her boyfriend, word began to come in over the channels from Predator about a group of Shamlaki Army AS-90 self propelled howitzers preparing to hammer the incoming Emmerian forces with 155mm shells.

"Looks like your question was just answered Hime." Rein snarked. "Halley and I are ready, let's go boss."

"Copy that Predator, preparing run on enemy SPG's. Everyone keep your heads on a swivel and don't sink below 10K for your runs. Fuckwads on the ground seem to have a habit of throwing everything and the kitchen sink at us."

"We know boss, this be Spam country. Let's Paveway or Mav these fuckers." Alyosha responded.

Zack switched channels over quickly to check on the status of Eagle flight while the F-16's raced towards the IP. "Eagle, this is Canis Lead. Status."

The F-16's were now above the the SPG's position, Zack ordered his pilots to use their Paveways again; lasing the target with his SNIPER XR pod. The others did the same as they once more squeezed their triggers in sequence, letting their beam riding bombs fly off their TER's.

    "Ferret, releasing store!"

    "Hime, bomb off!"

    "Matchstick releasing."

    "Comet, Pickle!"

Rosie sighed in relief as she defeated the missile. Sunny reported he had also done the same, and called for her to rejoin.

The two F-21s climbed to around fifteen thousand and rejoined the other pair led by Dusty. The flight began their routine orbit again.

"Sunny Lead to Cherry Picker, back on station and requesting further tasking." The lead F-21 called to the local FAC, seeing if there was anything else to blow up.

Breaking again, the Marine Hornets dumped flares and climbed away from the city, jinking all the while. "Mothra, Broadsword, you're clear, watch out for MANPADS!" said Hacker. Tuning back to the JTACs freq, he said, "Broadsword, we have one to two Mavs each, still plenty of bombs for your work."

"Understood Broadsword, thanks for the help." one of the AH-s watching the duel radioed.

"Basilisk, Broadsword, your next targets are the reinforcements pressing towards town from the east. Shogun has already begun to attack and we have more flights inbound to support, concentrate on the northern columns and watch for enemy defenses; they've got a ton. Area is clear of friendlies." the FAC radioed.

The first LCACs came ashore despite indirect fire near the beach, and offloaded their M1s to support the infantry in the first and second waves. The Kedhanis still enjoyed a large advantage in AFV numbers though, and were fanning out to first block, then strike the town. BMPs and T-90s, looking more like ants from high above, descended upon the battle. The Osean Marines were outnumbered two-to-one at least.

At Cherrypicker's request, the A-10s were held short and a flight of F-35Bs and F-35Cs brought forward first. According to Eric, the long-range SAMs didn't seem to be searching for anyone, or even powered up. The SA-19s and infantry with SA-24s was still a present threat, however, enough that the slow-moving Warthogs were too vulnerable.

Further from the Kedhani beachhead, James stumbled a bit as the building was shaken. He caught himself on the stair's railing , keeping his M8 pointed up towards the bridge on the second floor. The young man hurried up to the top and aimed his weapon to the far side of the bridge. Again the house was shaken. They were more mortars; the Marine JTAC requested Sunny's help to destroy them as the AH-1s moved to intercept a convoy of reinforcements trying to help the garrison at the village.

The SPGs were defended, naturally, by a single Crotale launcher. The weapons system had been set up and searching for targets almost as soon as it'd reached the place the AS-90s were to fire from. The weapon, perched atop a dune, fire at the lead Falcons as they made their runs. Even if it wouldn't be able to save the guns, it could exact revenge. The turret turned, and fired on the trailing F-16s as they passed by, waiting until they'd gotten some separation from any countermeasures they would release. Near it, the AS-90s were torn and beaten by the concussions and hot metal of GBUs.

Falcon 3 and 4 got a lucky break. The Guntanks had been distracted by the lead Mirages, and with the force's concentration on getting to the fore quickly, even as Emmerian Marines made their way up the slopes near the beach, no Mistrals were on hand to protect the Type 87s from their deaths. In the meantime the remaining APCs spread themselves across the open ground and increased speed, bringing their own guns to bear to act as improvised flak weapons, what little good they would do against the fast jets. The Ustian Mirages split up and circled around to target individual vehicles, as well and try and find the formation's command units.

The heliborne troops had taken the bombed-out positions cleared by Canis and had begun to clear them of anyone who might've survived. The once proud Shamlaki infantry were now broken, shattered, and despite their pride eager to surrender. Emmerian infantry, dressed for a fierce fight, instead found themselves standing like prisons guards as prisoners emerged from hiding spots, hands above heads in little more than their combat fatigues. To the front, the naval infantry dug in and readied for the force pressing their way.

Shamu radioed, "Roger that.  Basilisk is moving in position for area Brimstone launch."  On the squadron frequency he called, "Two, three, on me.  Time to light these fuckers up."

    "Two."

    "Three."

The three F-14s moved into formation as Shamu programmed the proper kill box into the Brimstones, datalinking the coordinates to Basilisk 2 and 3 as well.  Once they were in range 9 miles away from the target, he said to Sharky, "Do it."

    "Roger.  Basilisk 1, ripple Rifle."

The 6 Brimstones streaked away from the Quickstrike, followed by another 12 total from Basilisks 2 and 3.

Once the missiles were safely away, Shamu radioed, "Cherry Picker, missiles away.  State is two Brimstones, 4 GPS cluster, 1 JDAM for the section."

"Roger that Cherry Picker, Broadsword is in hot with JDAMs and Mavs." said Hacker from 1-1's back seat. The Hornets got into range, and fired their remaining Mavericks at the enemy columns. "Rifle!" called Riley. "Stream your decoys, Broadsword 1-1 will attack the front of the column, 1-3 and 1-4 hit the rear, 2 JDAMs each." he ordered. Climbing above MANPAD range, the Hornets then entered a shallow dive and dropped their bombs on the armored vehicles below. "Broadsword 1-1 in hot!", "1-2 in hot." "1-3 is in, hot", "1-4 is rolling in hot!" The F/A-18Fs pulled out of their dives, and pumped out some flares.

"Again with this bullshit!" Zack grolwed to himself as the Crotale SAM near the former artillery position locked on and opened fire on the couple. Zack immediately ordered to Hime, "Mao! Cross over with me hard, dump countermeasures, and turn into the attack! Aly! Comet! Behead that snake! Flank the fucker!"

    "Copy, beginning maneuver." Hime called.

"Say it don't spray it bossman, he's good as dead."

"Copy Canis One, I got him. Switching to Mavs."

Zack and Hime began their turn with the missiles in tow turning against them and directing their exhausts away from the projectiles all while trailing flares and chaff at the peak of their turn. The pair proceeded to race back towards the launchers gaining altitude as Aly and Rein flanked the Crotale, achieving lock on with their Mavericks while dumping their own countermeasures.

    "Matchstick, Rifle!"

    "Comet, Rifle!"

A pair of AGM-65D's now zipped away from their mother aircraft and bored in on the offending launcher.

"I got a new name for this hellhole if I manage to survive this..." Zack hissed.

"Keep your cool lead we can beat it." Mao grunted back.

Eric still had one Paveway, and Mark had three plus his JDAMs. It was decided Eric would let Mark stay behind to drop his weapons with a very safe corridor from the boat to the beachhead. Eric decided to make his weapon count, and selected the lead T-90 in one of the groups. He came around from behind for the best shot from behind, at which time his RWR told him the SA-6s were becoming active. He couldn't tell how many batteries off the bat, at least two so far. Nonetheless he streamed chaff and made a shallow dive, breathing calmly. Coming around from the back also gave him one other benefit; the IR lights on the T-90's Shtora weren't aimed at him for now. He released his final bomb before the turret could turn all the way around. At the same time, smoke was launched from multiple tanks.

"Shogun 208, bomb away." He radioed. The weapon glided down towards the sea of countermeasures and landed in the midst of the formation, making the effects more like an artillery shell than a laser-guided bomb.

At the same time, one of the SA-6s fired at him Eric went upwards; no need to tempt the hungry Grisons and MANPADS below, and trailed chaff. He rolled his cockpit towards the sea and pulled his nose towards it, more chaff in his wake. Grunting, the blonde barrel rolled to shake the missile off completely, streaking over the beach as it was crossed by follow-on waves of Marines. A reporter with the infantry landing snapped a photo as he screeched by, some of the Marines leaving their MLAVs in the foreground.

Mark, meanwhile, had gotten a heads up from some of the F-35s coming in. One flight had been scrambled with AGM-88s because of the SA-6s, while the other was carrying AGM-154s and Mavericks to stem the reinforcements. Armed with the knowledge that there was new aircraft inbound, he decided to make his next attack with his JDAMs, targeting two SA-19s from high above. With some quick taps, he got the coordinates and came back over the beach to attack. The SA-6s targeted him as he came in; the other two Shogun birds played the game of interference. as soon as he had the optimum position, Mark released both weapons.

"Shogun 205, bombs away." He drawled.

The pilot dared dive, being at roughly 17,000 feet, to avoid the wrath of the Gainfuls trying to dot him from the blue. He nosed over and headed for the relative safety of the city as it became an OMC stronghold. the SA-19s, given no warning of the GPS-guided bombs, became the next casualties of the fight, but it seemed like a sea of them remained. Mark pushed for the water so he could think or await tasking in something resembling peace.

Sunny replied for the request for support from the Marines. Dusty commented on the situation.

"Mortars? It's like killing a roach with shotgun with what we're carrying"

"Yeah I know but they need all the help they can get down there" Sunny mulled for a second then thought of a game plan.

"Let the Rosie and Bait drop this time, we'll use our pods to find the bastards. Rosie, Bait, you getting this? We drop high, from now on so we don't give those MANPADS an easy target"

Getting two sets of affirmative clicks, the two section leaders went to work while their wingmen readied.

Tracking the trails of another set of mortars with their Sniper pods, Sunny and Dusty gave the younger pilots their targets. The two F-21's began a shallow dive towards 10'000 feet and their release points.

Rosie was the first to drop.

"Sunny 2, pickle" The Sapin-Osean said relatively calmly. Not so calm, was the call from Bait.

"Sunny 4, pickle" He almost shouted over the airwaves, his first (effective shot) fired in anger.

A Paveway from each F-21 dropped towards their intended targets.

The Brimstones didn't go unnoticed by the Tungskas covering the T-90s; their millimeter-wave radars made them clear targets to the vehicles. Immediately the SPAAGs went into action to defend while the T-90s deployed their own countermeasures. Ten of the eighteen weapons were locked and successfully engaged by a combination of guns and missiles as they came into range. Eight others landed on T-90s towards the front of the column, starting a clog in the advance even though it was slowing but doing what damage it could. the BMPs were easy pray for the AH-1s hanging around near the urban sprawl and would be even easier for the M1s rolling into town.

The Fast FAC Hornet hand shifted to get closer to the armored forces pressing towards town. Initial reports suggested about 18 T-90s and 21 BMPs were still alive, though the chaos was making it difficult to trust those numbers. As the PMC Tomcat called her, she looked towards the hills. the F-35s from the Excalibur had reported in not to long ago.

"Basilisk, one of the JSF flights is gonna try and target some of the SA-6s towards the rear. Your JDAMs should prove useful. Coliseum, Basilisk will be joining you for SEAD, how copy?" She spoke up.

"Roger that Cherry Picker." the lead F-35 replied from over the beach as his flight fanned out.

Broadswords JDAMs, ineffective against moving targets and without GPS coordinates, were nothing more than dumb bombs. two BMPs were damaged, one of them detracked, by the impact of one, while the other was still able to move. The Mavericks fared even worse against the T-90s' Shtora, which used a combination of smoke and IR dazzlers to defeat the weapons' guidance. Their movement forward meant they weren't where the Mavs thought they were when they impacted. two T-90s took shrapnel damage from the explosions, but were otherwise battle-worthy.

Shooting roaches with shotguns was a good way to describe it, and with the F-21s flying near the SA-24's ceiling it was even more in their favor. The mortars suffered the same fate as their other comrades, and it was as brutal as one would expect from getting the full force of a GBU-12. Of course on the ground, where James was, it didn't seem to be that apparent. A considerable number of Kedhani infantry had strong-pointed what could best be described as a bus station. From a window in the house his squad had just cleared, James found himself firing multiple rounds downrange at the muzzles flashes from what seemed like every window and place you could stick a rifle barrel out of. Next to him the JTAC decided to play the trump card again.

"Sunny Flight, we have an enemy stronghold, bus station looks like. Can you hit it? We can laze." He radioed as he leveled his designator at the target.

In Shamlak, the Crotale wasn't able to defend itself against multiple Mavericks, and in quick succession was dispatched by the Maverick-firing Falcons. Now the major threat were the armored cars as they tried to push the Emmerian soldiers from their newly established positions. More support had come to help the Marines as they opened fire on the lead elements of the force's remnants. Tiger attack helicopters, which had been temporarily embarked on the Mistral-class ship, approached the beach from low altitude before popping up to attack the lead elements with Hellfire. On the ground, the weapon of choice were the APILAS and Javelin.

With the enemy Crotale now turned into a blackened, twisted hulk of burning wreckage; Rein and Alyosha formed on each other after making their flanking action. Meanwhile above them were their comrades who now leveled out as the SAM threat was neutralized. Zack quickly called over to his wingmen who were behind him at a lower altitude.

"Matchstick, Comet we still have enemy threats coming at the Marines. A few armored cars and IFV's from what I can see. Engage with remaining ordnance while we provide cover. We got friendly Helos and Marines engaging with ATGM's as well."

Rein smirked as she caught sight of the hostiles. "Comet, Wilco. I can throw a couple Mavs into the chaos."

"Matchstick copies, let's pick some more ants." Alyosha called back with a slight disappointment that he would not see any air to air action.

The pair banked back over and bared down on the hostile formation, locking on to a couple hostile IFV's each letting loose their remaining Mavericks.

    "Matchstick Ripple Rifle."

    "Comet, Rifle One, Rifle One!"

Four AGM-65D's now sped away and raced towards the hostile AFV's. In the meantime Zack now contacted the AWACS for a bigger picture of the skies around him.

"Canis lead to Marksman, request radar picture and additional tasking over."

"Basilisk copies.  Be advised we have cluster available too."

The 4 F-14s broke off to form up on the F-35s' wing.  Shamu radioed, "Coliseum lead, Basilisk flight of 4 forming up on your left wing.  Lead the way, gents."
