The men guarding the helos heard the light drone of the Switchblade's engine, but at first the one or two that decided to look thought it was possibly an Osean spy drone above. That made what was the equivalent of a 40mm grenade seem almost spontaneous. The helicopter that Odin had guided the weapon in on took the technicians with it immediately, and maimed several nearby soldiers, some fatally. The other soldiers near the second helo, shocked but not badly injured (a few were dazed) scattered under the control of their leader. The man radioed the sniper tower Dusty was in, but got no response.

He looked up towards the tower when he didn't get a quick acknowledgement. He squinted his eyes and saw a silhouette that didn't seem to look like a Shamlaki soldier. His NVGs didn't afford him much depth perception. He called two soldiers to follow him so he could get a closer look. The five other men took up defensive positions near Connex boxes that held spare parts for the helos. In the meantime the remaining twenty troops in the platoon-sized force scrambled to secure the section of road that passed through their small base.

Six men piled into a pair of Dingo 2s to race up the mountain and help in the evacuation by providing a ground extraction if they couldn't get the generals out by air. Others manned the gates and watched the perimeter, especially weary after the first helicopter had exploded.

At the complex itself, one of the snipers was wounded, dazed when a round had slashed at the side of his helmet and put him out of action. The other aimed his fire at Halo while the infantry teams picked up their wounded from the grenade. One of the still functioning MAGs had been moved back and was being used to cover the evac. Two men also fired a single PF-89 Each into the terrain uphill. Those still able to fire put their accuracy to work.

In the tower, Dusty noticed the movement of the soldiers.  "Big O, I think they glassed us."

"Check."  Odin fired a pair of rounds at the remaining helo, sending a pair of armor piercing incendiary .338 rounds at the aircraft, before folding up the bipod and moving.

The two snipers relocated, setting up a position in one of the other buildings of the compound, making sure their hide was in the interior of the building, so they could shoot out while no one else could see in.  Dusty radioed, "Boss, got a pair of jeeps moving up the road to the target building."

"We see them.  We'll take 'em."  Genghis nodded to Voodoo and Tick, who unslung the Javelin launchers they carried on their shoulders.  The two promptly fitted the CLUs to the tubes, locked on to the jeeps, and fired.  The moment the missiles streaked skywards, they dumped the empty tubes and relocated to the other side of the guard post.

Meanwhile, Dusty talked Odin onto the man he believed had negated the use of their first hide site.
    "Three guys running towards us."

    "Eyes on."

    "Guy in the middle."

    "I see him."

"Range 650.  Wind three quarter value."

    "On target."

    "Send it."

Odin's MSR coughed, sending a round towards the offending Shamlaki.

"Clear to engage the rest of those."

The rifle fired two more times, sending rounds at the rest of the group.

Halo fired twice more before dropping behind the rock. Another airburst grenade from Jester's M320 was sent towards the sniper's position. The rest of the SEALs laid down fire on the retreating hostile infantry, while other planted the explosives on the radar and other vital components. When the last of the team members got clear of the blast radius, Jester again checked with all elements.

    "1-2 is go."

    "1-3 go!"

    "1-4, set."

    "Roger," said Jester, "Hit it!"

The charges detonated in a violent blast.

"Lawman, this is Phantom, SAMs are down, you are cleared to move in! Phantom is regrouping and moving to the next objective, out"

The Shamlakis in the guard post at the base of the mountain had largely settled into holding their positions and scanning. One of the men in charge who was still alive was on a cell phone he kept as a backup, reporting to the outside world the King's vacation home was under attack. No one was doing anything with the Dingos during and a sniper (or snipers) apparently in the compound. Soldiers quietly dug into concealed positions and began scanning, watching and waiting.

Five men left over from the clash with the SEALs were ordered back further as the effort became concentrated on getting the generals to safety. Only the FN MAG remained, keeping up a steady stream of fire alongside two riflemen. The other four hurried to make n eight-man team covering the two targets the Special Forces were after. The problem, which they were only realizing in full just now, was that there was no escape. No easy one, anyways.

Brad checked his team one last time, mostly via radio, to ensure they were ready to  move into action.  He adjusted his boom mike.

"Okay Miss Sharky, ready when you are!" He announced. The officer lowered his NVGs and tensed. He could feel the adrenaline flowing all over.
