    character sheets

Post by viperzero on Sat Jun 27, 2015 11:17 am

Wing Blue is set during an alternate timeline to our own, however unless stated otherwise the world about the same as our worlds 1980s. Most changes are technological to make the world more like ace combat (for example SDI in some form exists) and political. You can make as many characters as you wish but make sure you can manage them. I will mostly be doing air combat related stuff, if you want to do something else by all means. the date is march 11th 1987 keep that in mind when doing ages

    Name/Rank: Lieutenant Cody Jay Walker
    Age: 29
    Height: 6’3”
    Weight: 187 lbs.
    Build: Lanky
    Eyes: Gray
Hair: Dark Brown (kept short, almost like a USMC High-and-Tight)
    DOB: September 17, 1958
Affiliation (National/Military/Other): United States, United States Navy
Assignment/Unit prior to Wing Blue: VF-74 Bedevilers, CVW-17, USS Saratoga (on exchange duty with the 53rd TFS Tigers, 36th TFW, Bitburg AB)
Aircraft(s) or previously flown: In training Cody flew T-34C Turbo Mentor and T-2B Buckeye, and before joining Wing Blue he flew the F-14A Tomcat. He currently flies the F-15C Eagle
    Callsign: Ranger
    TAC Name: Blaster 2-1

    Bio/Description/Personality:

Cody Walker was born on Naval Air Station Cecil Field in Florida and lived the typical life of a kid who lives in a family filled with soldiers. During his youth he lived near naval bases until his father retired to a farm in Pennsylvania. Cody, then 15, graduated from highschool and earned a place at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis in Maryland. He graduated and was sent back to Florida for flight training, his goal all along. Cody was then sent to Norfolk, Virginia, to train with VF-101 for his career in the F-14A Tomcat. He earned his wings in 1982. His first taste of combat was when he was fairly fresh from the RAG. He flew with VF-31 over Lebanon in 1983, performing CAPs and TARPs runs. His next stint would be from 1984 to 1986 with VF-74, where he was present for (but did not directly partake in) the Achille Lauro affair. In 1986 he saw combat again with the squadron when he flew sorties over Libya during Operation El Dorado Canyon.

Afterwards Cody gained the chance to fly F-15s out of Bitburg for a year with the 36th TFW. After a few months at Tyndall AFB in Florida, he reported in December of 1986. During this time, at a bar in the city of Bitburg, he met a woman named Anne Lancaster, a British woman who’d settled in the area. Cody became enthralled with her, and with some effort managed to attract the dark-haired woman. In February of 1987, he was assigned, alongside part of his assigned squadron, to Wing Blue. Anne remained in Bitburg despite the rising tensions, though Cody tried to get her to leave for her own safety several times. However, the incident in Germany means his personal life must be put to the side.

Personality wise Cody Walker is enthusiastic in battle but cynical about the things that hang over is such as MAD, containment, and the like.  He is happy to show respect for his opponents, and openly shares his desire to face VVS pilots, whom he believes are the best he will face in his career. His southern accent leads some to believe he is the stereotypical southerner, but he believes the Navy life has made him better. He also believes that it has made him enough of a gentleman to woo and keep the refined and mynx-like Anne Lancaster. He is also something of a survivalist, which has earned him his callsign. During his time in E and E training, he was commended as knowing how to live off the land the best. His combat time has helped sharpen his skills.

    Name/Rank:  Major Subha Sarkar
    Age: 37
    Height: 6’
    Weight: 195
    Build:  Muscular
    Eyes: Brown
    Hair:  Black, buzz cut
    DOB:  2/9/1950
    Affiliation (National/Military/Other):  USAF
Assignment/Unit prior to Wing Blue: 494th FS, 48th TFW
    Aircraft(s) or previously flown: T-37, T-38, F-111E, F-111F
    Callsign: Sinbad
    TAC Name:  Dragon 1-2 Alpha
    Bio/Description/personality:

Subha Sarkar was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 9, 1950.  His parents emigrated from India following the turmoil of the country’s independence movement and subsequent conflicts with Pakistan.  Subha’s uncle was a squadron commander in the newly formed Indian Air Force, acquitting himself well in the First Kashmir War between India and Pakistan.  Stories of his exploits instilled a desire to fly combat aircraft in Subha from a young age, against the wishes of his parents.  Despite this, Subha gained acceptance to the US Air Force Academy, passing pilot training and being assigned to fly F-111Es with the 79th Tactical Fighter Squadron in 1978.  After four years with the “Tigers,” practicing low level conventional bombing and runway attacks, he transferred to the 494th TFS “Panthers” at Lakenheath AFB, flying the F-111F.  At Lakenheath, he eventually became the squadron’s weapons officer, responsible for training the crews on the use of precision guided ordnance.  His skills were finally put to the test in 1986, when he along with the rest of the squadron participated in Operation El Dorado Canyon, the series of punitive bombing raids in Libya.  Subha did well, leading strikes against Tripoli International Airport.  After the conflict he was promoted to Major and invited to join Wing Blue.

Subha is famous for being an extremely cool character while in the cockpit, a virtue when on low level strike runs against heavily defended targets, but in recent years he has found himself lacking a purpose.  Before being assigned to Wing Blue he considered transferring to the Weapons School at Nellis or the Armament Development Test Center at Eglin Air Force Base.

Due to his focus on his career, Subha has not had much in the way of a steady love life, most girlfriends complaining that he is “married to that beast he flies.”  However, he recently met Natalie Cavanaugh, an RAF intelligence officer with whom he gets along well, despite her enjoyment of teasing him.

    Name/Rank:  Captain Devon Jones
    Age: 30
    Height: 6’ 3
    Weight: 189
    Build:  Toned
    Eyes: Brown
    Hair:  Black, short, curly
    DOB:  4/10/1956
    Affiliation (National/Military/Other):  USAF
Assignment/Unit prior to Wing Blue: 79th TFS, 20th TFW, 391st TFS, 366th TFW
    Aircraft(s) or previously flown: F-111E, F-111A
    Callsign: Dexter
    TAC Name: Dragon 1-2 Bravo
    Bio/Description/personality:

Devon Jones was born in a lower income neighborhood of the Bronx.  His father served as a Marine Corps rifleman during the Vietnam War.  Devon never liked the circumstances under which he grew up, and thus applied himself to his studies in hopes of escaping the Bronx, eventually getting a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University, where he joined AFROTC in order to cover some of the costs, studying mechanical and electrical engineering.  After graduating, he was assigned a weapons systems officer billet with the 79th TFS at Upper Heyford, where he briefly served with Subha.  In 1984 he was invited to assist in the integration of the F-15E Strike Eagle at Seymour Johnson, but due to his distaste for the F-15 platform, lobbied to stay in Aardvarks instead, transferring to the 391st TFS at Mountain Home AFB.  In 1986 he was invited to join Wing Blue.

Devon is somewhat of a bookworm, spending much of his time studying Warsaw Pact air defense systems and researching new technologies, which led to his callsign of Dexter.  However, due to his near obsessive research of Pact anti-air systems, he is one of the most knowledgeable people with regards to their capabilities outside of the intelligence community, a quality which he is able to put to good use in his profession.

In contrast to Subha’s cool and relaxed demeanor, Devon is much more easily excitable, often babbling on for unbearable amounts of time before he either gets bored or is ignored by all around him.  However, when the shit truly hits the fan, he is able to bring himself to laserlike focus.

Devon has not had a steady relationship in quite some time, mostly due to his short attention span.  However, he has recently taken up with a German girl, Ingrid Epstein, whom he met on base, although the relationship is not particularly serious at the moment.

    Build: aged
    Eyes: gray
    Hair: white
    DOB: 2/14/1930

    Callsign: The Old man
    TAC Name: N/A
Bio/Description/personality: The Old Man has been with the Air Force almost as long as there has been an air force. Becoming a fighter pilot in 1952 he fought in the tail end of the Korean conflict but still managed to become an ace. During the 1950s he was involved in various space programs and eventually became part of Wing Blue. He became the first man to reach sub orbit in an X-15 in 1959 as well as set a number of other records. When the Vietnam war broke out he returned once again to the seat of a fighter jet only to find the air force had forgotten how to dogfight. After the war he proposed his SARF concept, a well trained and flexible rapid reaction squadron that could serve as a model unit. Since that time has been involved in overseeing experimental aircraft development at Wing Blue. He is a famously stubborn ageing hot shot, but takes good care of the pilots under him. His wife and high school sweet heart Annie runs a bar in Rocket city where he can sometimes be found. On weekends the two of them take out his 53 Corvette and drive as fast as then can where the police don’t patrol.

Bio/Description/personality: Sabrina Kelly loved aircraft as a little girl and dreamed of becoming an Engineer. When she got older she felt she wouldn’t be a good fit for this but did become a technician for wing blue in 1981. Preferring solitary work she has tended to take jobs that require isolation. Other Wing blue employees see her as a bit of a harmless odd ball, she keeps to herself, talks to herself, isn’t all that good at conversation, and tends to work on various personal projects in her room that require tools and wires. However she is seen as friendly enough, intelligent and a good worker. Eventually the old man seeing this, pick her for civilian test pilot training. She is also an enthusiastic Macintosh user and just bought a new Macintosh ii.

Bio/Description/personality: Raymond Arnold was from a fairly wealthy family in Maine, he was known to be very stoic and really only enjoyed flying and reading. He Joined the CIA out of collage as an analyst, He had a love for facts and information and not much else. However as an armature pilot with a truly staggering number of flight hours, he was able to join the spy plane program. He flew every aircraft type the CIA had to offer until the air force took over. Afterwards he became part of the CIA run Air America airliner. His hope was to become a real airline pilot later on. During this time he began to lighten up, though still very stoic he developed a bit of a dry sense of humor. He proved very reliable during the “Secret war in Laos.” He also proved very willing to risk himself for his comrades. Eventually Air America’s cover was blown and he spent the next decade wondering, until joining wing blue. Arnold is not very energetic, ambitious, nor charismatic but he very organized, loyal to the few he likes, and not one to focus on unimportant things. Ever since the old man asked him to get back in the set of an A-12 he has been a bit of a grump since he has been force to lose over 25 pounds.

Aircraft(s) or previously flown: Hawker Siddeley Harrier, Sea Harrier FRS1
    Callsign: Galloglass
    TAC Name: N/A
Biography: A patriot from a young age born to London-residing Irish parents, he had plans to go into the Royal Air Force but was convinced by a savvy recruiter to serve in the Royal Navy as an aviator. He would ultimately serve in numerous conflicts including the Falklands War. Following the conflict, he was promoted to Captain and on leave with family in Ireland where he got into a bar conflict with a self-proclaimed IRA member resulting in a gunshot to the left leg. It healed improperly which left him with a limp requiring a cane. Shortly afterwards, he was attached to Wing Blue in 1983 where he acted as an adviser from the British armed forces.
Personality: Shay is a patriot who sees his role as putting the enemies of his homeland in the ground. He has no love for the Soviet Union and sees them as just another threat to global security. As a by the book man, he is rather inflexible and humorless especially now when he sees World War III on the horizon with the possibility of oblivion. He simply wants to spend his time assisting in putting Britain's and, of course, NATOs enemies in their proper place.
