Rachel’s eyes narrowed as she watched the JZ-8 inhale a flock of startled birds, lose its engine power in the process, and its lone pilot eject at near Mach Two speed; letting his ride continue its high velocity descent into the mountainside. “Well this is just wonderful…” Rachel thought as she kept on her course, passing over the freshly bailed out pilot and what was once a Shenyang Photoback now burning in a scattered heap below.

<<Dragonlady: Tabby; the intruder went down. Successful ejection.>>

    <<Tabby: What happened!?>>

<<Dragonlady: Plane had an FOI from the looks of it, looks like the gu-*RWR Panel Alarms* JO! Incoming! Break, Break!>>

The F-16U’s suddenly found themselves fired on by incoming bandits using BVR range AAM’s, the crash triggered a hostile response from the forces massed at the border. To make matters worse, jamming interference had begun to play havoc with their radar. For now reacting to incoming fire and putting themselves in a position to respond took top priority.

<<Tabby: Two is evasive, deploying chaff and decoys.>>

The delta wing fighters went into hard turns, dumping chaff and trailing their AN/ALE-55 fiber optic decoys, moving against the missiles as much as their machines would allow. The G-forces now pushed back against Rachel as she momentarily brought herself around to shakily lock herself on a target and loose two of her AIM-120D AMRAAM’s against her attacker before sweeping back into a turn.

<<Dragonlady: Unicorn One, Fox Three, Fox Three!>>

Meanwhile Zack and Mao were also evading as well, their fighters breaking off in opposite directions of each other, their decoys trailing, and chaff filling the sky like an aluminum cloud. Zack growled and grunted as he turned into the missile, then passed Mao as they kept kinetic against their attackers, on their next series of turns, the two also fired a pair of AIM-120D’s each trailing more chaff in the process.

<<Ferret: Ferret, Fox Three, Fox Three!>>

    <<Hime: Canis Two, Fox Three!>>

The SEAD flight who were bseiged by a barrage of HQ-10 missiles repeated the process of countermeasures, decoys, and turns in addition to their tail mounted ASPJ’s coming to life. The pair brought themselves closer to the ground before firing off their JSOW against the batteries, the AGM-154’s falling away from their motherships’ with a ‘clunk.’

    <<Matchstick: Matchstick, Rifle!>>

    <<Comet: Comet, Rifle One!>>

Zack smoldered at the situation unfolding around him as he continued his evading; all of his predictions had come true. The degrading situation had finally turned violent. Zack quickly made an effort to dismiss his rising anger; he was no good to his allies, his pack especially when enraged.

Carlos was doodling his way around the radar waves. The stealth plane was nothing more than dandelion seeds in the wind. Lazing up one of the Radar systems, Carlos Made sure he was lined to not be in that direction when he opened up. "Nice and Warm...Have a nice little taste of Aurelian Spice."

    Jetstream
    <<Dropping>>

With the speed of modern hydraulics, the Bay doors on the Nighthawk open, and deploy a guided munition. As soon as it left the bay, the doors snapped closed. Not Fast enough for the other Radar operators to catch a glimpse of the slowest mover in the allied set. "Time to leave..." as the Nighthawk moved as fast as it could to be anywhere but there. Preferably to the next HQ radar center.

On the other side, Ryoko was sticking with her temporary Wingman. Switching to her Meteor missiles, She checked her search Radar for the first set of targets.

<<I hope you have plan, or those angry Verks are going to be in range.>>

She hoped she was not wrong placing her safety in the hands of the boogeyman that was the BAF...

Realizing that shit just hit the fan, Will and Beatrix took evasive maneuvers, dumping chaff and flares from their respective Strike Eagles.

    Lautern:
Garuda Two, we're going after the SAMs!

After getting a reply from Beatrix, the two F-15Es headed toward the SAM sites and prepared to use their cluster bombs. Once near the sites, the two Strike Eagles each dropped a cluster bomb on their respective targets before pulling away from the area.

Alexander suppressed a snarl as he immediately spotted the telltale signs of a battle beginning. "Sheißt." He inhaled and exhaled deeply in an attempt to steady his nerves. He drew upon his previous experiences, recalling his previous sorties and flight maneuvers, bringing them to the forefront of his mind.

HorusEye was quick to inform the allied planes that they were free to engage. Verusean planes were not too far off from entering firing range, clearly evidenced by their radar signatures. Ryoko asked if he had a plan:

    Hund
<<We need to keep an eye on Jetstream since he’s on his own. Beyond that, just pick your targets and keep them preoccupied. Now then, Eisern 2—engage!>>

Not a moment too soon, Alex started receiving missile warnings from the four Verusean J-8IIM Finbacks, who descended in their bracket maneuver upon Alex’s Ginover and Ryoko’s Gripen. Their firing distance and missile speed were dead giveaways to him that these were no ordinary missiles, but some form of BVRs—beyond visual range missiles. BVRs could be fired from a long distance and they moved incredibly fast… but they were not necessarily known for their maneuverability.

That was something Alex’s Ginover was known for. The second it registered to him what type of missiles they were, Alex hit his air brakes, slowing his craft greatly so that he could jink it. Immediately, he deployed his chaff.

Once he was in the clear, he let the Finbacks make their approach. Finbacks were fast but not maneuverable, so they only intended to make hit-and-run attacks. Just before the Finbacks made their pass, he would hit his brakes again and turn to his right to engage them from behind, firing his IRIS-Ts right up the tailpipe of the first one to line up in his sights.

Knowing their own CAP was now perforating the border, the two JZ-8s that'd been hampering Eisern Flight broke as the Belkans were shuffling under them, aiming high and away from the fight even before the leader of "Koplje 2" instructed them out of the way. The J-11s matched the move by the Ginnovers by using their distance from the jets to lessen the effects of the sudden move.

    Koplje 2-1
<<Three, Four take the ones on the right. We're engaging left>>

With smooth moves and their external tanks long gone, the Flankers split. Koplje 2-1 pursued Arthur and whomever had ran with him. the man stayed bove and behind and shot a single PL-9 from six o'clock high, his wingman following behind loosely to guard his tail. Koplje 2-3 and 2-4 made a more aggressive attack, hitting Eiserns Three and Four perpendicular to their maneuvers. Koplje 2-3 shot a PL-9 off close and used the immediate distraction to break away and re-position. His Flanker screamed upwards while his wingman zoomed behind the Belkan fighters and made a hard left to hit them again.

Under a good many circumstances, Abyssal Dision would've made a bad move by turning towards the PL-12 shot at him and ordering his cohorts to do the same. Lucky for him the sky over this part of Tara still had a good several jammers in it, and he'd deployed countermeasures. The missiles, in their own ways, faltered and confused the strips of metal for targets in the electronic haze. The J-8 facing Dision, still moving at just below afterburner, fired a single PL-9 heatseeker broke right to pass the man far to his left. The one after Robin ducked down and the one charging Holmes fired two more PL-12s.

As the Flankers split and attacked, one had inadvertently made a mistake. Koplje 1's newest pilot, attached to the lead fourship due to his inexperience, had fired chaff too late and broken upwards in attempt to roll. With too little energy, the jet wasn't able to move fast enough to beat one of Eric's AIM-120s, and the missile's warhead detonated against the jet. The rest of the flight split while the next missiles came in. Eric's second AIM-120 detonated behind Koplje 1-3 as he was breaking hard right and deploying flares, dealing a good amount of damage to the man.

    Koplje 1-1
<<1-3, turn to heading 225. Bug out, bug out now>>

    Koplje 1-3
    <<Motherfucking...understood lead, bugging out>>

Koplje 1-1 and 1-2 were alone now, but they weren't done. As the heavily hurt Koplje 1-3 banked left to run home, the two Leading Flankers found themselves above the Oseans. Ryu's attempted shot had detonated somewhere behind as they sped onwards, simply unable to turn tightly enough to keep up with the J-11s. Koplje 1-1 aimed his nose at the vulnerable Mark Walker, rolled inverted and dove, firing a single PL-9. Koplje 1-2  broke right, aiming to protect her lead from Eric and Ryu as they came back around to fire again. In the meantime the JZ-8s had been sent packing by Starfighter, who'd missed but managed to shake the two machines up enough that they were retreating.

Sharky's AGM-88 flew fast, straight, and true. It crossed the border, inbound for the HQ-10's search radar. The men at the site had no idea, only the inclination, they'd be shot at. Some didn't even have that; they reckoned the border gave them protection from the UN planes. It was a rude surprise when the white missile fired from Serpent Lead planted itself on the dish near the center of the formation, turning the once-advanced piece of electronics into burning, useless scrap metal. It scared the hell out of the other batteries, but they fired back again. The battery closest to the neutralized one popped off two at one of the Su-24s near the GRDF flight.

    Fedayor
<<Katapult be advised, we're getting spotty returns near the border. Possible incursion>>

Serpents 1 and two were hard to see, but dozens of soldiers heard the jets. Around the positions of the 83rd Mechanized Division, pairs of PGZ-07 mobile AA guns perked up and began to look for the intruders. Men with binoculars looked all over, or some just shielded their face and watched. Two PGZ-07s, perched on a sheer ridge, caught sight of Sharky and Shamu as they came in fast. The commander barked at his gunner to start shooting before he called out the target. The PGZs that were more forward had no chance, but the two on the ridge at least fired in Sharky and Shamu's direction before they popped up. As he did, they got a more solid lock, blazing away. The two forward followed the tracers.

The SAM site Shark and Shamu had fired on was reeling after the AARGM had landed, but next came Brimstones. Men dove for cover as they impacted, but the results were surprisingly light. The battery was still of no use but one had failed to hit a single thing, the next two ended up giving a light bruising to a pair of TELs, and the last disabled the command trailer.

Serpent 2 had an even worse day. The CBU-103 worked perfectly, not a single issue with the weapon itself. However, the terrain ended up saving the HQ-10 as did Millie and Showtime's attack pattern. They'd flow so low the weapon didn't get the picture it needed.

Dragonlady's two missiles caught a J-8 in a hard left. As the jet detected it was being fired at, it dumped all the chaff it could. The AIM-120, though advanced, lost simply due to the amount of the stuff getting pumped, and the YJ-9s down south. The second had been fired at the right time,, when the Finback was far enough away from the chaff. The pilot realized he'd fired his tiny load, and his little interceptor's maneuverability was almost none at this speed. Rachel's AMRAAM hit the old fighter in the stomach.

The other J-8s had managed to escape the immediate wraith of Zack Hathaway and his F-16s, but only one missile had actually missed. Zack's second shot sailed below the lead J-8 as it screamed up with what energy it had, damaged in the tailfin by his first shot. The pilot realized he could easily stall and began frantically trying to get into a more favorable position. From below he almost looked like he was hanging in midair. Mao had done far better. Her prey had been banking left, which after her maneuvers put him right in front of her. It was only by a stroke of luck he wasn't blown in half. Instead the pilot got to lose his tail rudder; he frantically began to turn for friendly skies. In the meantime their teammates made up for Millie and Showtime's mistake by disabling the SAM site they'd failed to hit. Rein's JSOW suffered a malfunction and kamikazed into a farm valley, but Aly's suffered no such visit from the illusive Murphy. It made the SAM site nothing more than some unguided rockets with an incomplete radar set.

The AAF Colonel's attack went smoothly for him, especially in the wake of the blitz by Rosenthal's contingent on the first two. They'd caused a great deal of chaos there. The stealth jet's single attack on one of the untouched HQ-10 sites gave it a solid hit, greatly damaging the radar. In it's degraded state, the site was no serious threat, but it remained a factor. Fedayor ordered the nearest ground station to try and coordinate with it, to try and help the battery remain an asset.

The attack on that battery and the fourth fell not only to Jetstream, but Gardua One and his Strike Eagles. Their approach pattern made them an attractive target for a pair of PGZ-07s among the 83rd Mechanized spotted the dark gray jets and met them with rapid shots of 35mm. Still they couldn't stop the cluster bombs from leaving the F-15Es. The results were mixed: William practically obliterated the HQ-10 site he'd targeted. It looked like one of those tests often aired on documentaries, except the targets below were real. The search radar was rendered unrecognizable, and the nearby tracking radars and command truck suffered mortal wounds. Beatrix could not brag the same, as her bomb landed slightly forward of the fourth site, knocking out some TELs but leaving the search radar mostly intact.

Alexander would probably want to count his blessings later. If Dision's move was considered ill-advised, the lone man of Eisern had taken a very dangerous gamble. The sudden reduction of speed gave the PL-12s a great edge, degraded only when the jamming mucking up everything was added onto by countermeasures. The two missiles after Hund missed, but they exploded close enough he was bound to have one hell of a teeth-rattling inside his cockpit. And some light damage As the Finbacks zipped by, their radios exploded with shouting.

    Stuka 1-1
<<Engage him! Engage that Belkan while he's slow! He'll stall!>>

    Stuka 1-2
<<Negative, Stuka 1-2 doesn't have an angle...watch the Gripen at your two, 1-3>>

    Stuka 1-3
    <<He's mine, I see him>>

    Stuka 1-1
    <<Two, missile after you>>

Stuka 1-2, the jet Hund had taken a shot at, broke right and slowed a little to bleed off enough energy to fight. He vibrated a little in his cockpit as the plane buffered against the air. His plane spat out flares, but there was a reason heat-seeking was the guidance of choice for close-range fighting. While his lead went vertical, cooling his hot approach with gravity. The man ended up above the Ginnover, and he retaliated against the Belkan with a PL-9 while he was slow.

Stuka's second pair took the job of separating Ryoko from her temporary wingman. They kept course and fired PL-12s again to get rid of the extra weight. The weapon of choice then became the PL-9, which was held in reserve to counter whatever the YAF pilot would do.

‘Well that didn’t work quite as planned, then again, they have distance on their side,’ Arthur quipped mentally as the two hand-me-down Flankers slid onto both Mia’s and his own tail. Looking behind him, Arthur could already see that Katryn and Anthony had likewise run afoul with the remaining two, which appeared to be gearing up for a hit-and-run strike. Suddenly, Arthur smirked as he spoke coolly,

    Wanderfalke
<<I’ll give them this much, they’re determined, but determination won’t be enough to claim a Belkan. 3, 4, 5, remember the Battle of Gran Rudigo?>>

    Trixi
    <<Like I’d forget!>>

    Spatz
<<Well, I wouldn’t rate these guys half as good as Cetro, they’re sloppy.>>

    Wanderfalke
<<Then again, we had luck, surprise, and numbers on our side… Oh along with the small fact Sapin was running low on fuel at that point.>>

    Trixi
<<Oh, and they still tore your flaps apart, Immortal Number 04.>>

    Katze
<<Ugh, just give the order, Staffelführer!>>

    Wanderfalke
<<Katze, Spatz, The Order is Given.>>

With that Spatz and Katze fired their chaff and broke off hard in a S-Turn, pushing their fighters hard to gain speed while inverting themselves before rolling in a half-loop and screamed past their former pursuers and towards Arthur and Mia. Meanwhile, Mia and Arthur weaved between each other once more while firing more chaff to spoof the missile fire before dispersing to give the rocket a wide berth and turning their fighters straight towards Katze and Spatz using a S-Turn of their own. Katze and Spatz, seeing the opportunity, fired four IRIS-T missiles at the Flankers chasing their Squadron Leader and wing mate before dispersing: two per fighter. At the same time, Arthur and Mia locked onto the two Flankers that had chased Katze and Spatz and fired four IRIS-Ts as well before dispersing, again 2 per plane. If all went according to plan, Arthur was banking on the moment they all broke, the Flankers reaction time would be slow enough for the Quick Maneuvering Missiles to make their target and destroy at least half, if not all the targets whilst the four of them performed a variation of the teach-weave.

    Meanwhile...

Although Abyssal could see he had avoided the worst of his daring maneuver, Robin and Holmes found themselves unwanted dance partners who were now taking aim. Thinking fast, Abyssal performed a Immelmann Turn to get himself turned around and facing the Flanker that was chasing Robin only to duck out, and gave orders:

    Abyss
<<Robin, jink right. Holmes, bring your dance partner our way.>>

    Robin
    <<Roger!>>

    Holmes
    <<Sir, I think that's not-!>>

    Abyss
    <<You got a better idea!>>

    Holmes
    <<No, sir. Roger.>>

With that, Robin jinked his fighter and performed a roll as Abyssal opened fire with his guns on the Flanker below. Meanwhile, Holmes was popping flares as he lured his pursuer towards his wing mates, and observed Robin was making an approach with a Lag-Displacement Roll. Firing 2 AIM-9X's at Holmes's Flanker, Robin quickly turned his fighter to rejoin Abyssal, who had already begun to engage the remaining Flanker using a Low Yo-Yo. If all goes well, Holmes would be freed from his unwanted partner and would be able to rejoin his wing mates to turn the fight to their side.

Eric watched the results of his first two shots with heavy breaths. He watched the piece of the Flanker sail down in what felt like slow motion. His second shot, though not a kill, didn't escape his note either. He cleared his throat and quickly avoided gawking for longer than a second or two.

    Saber
<<Shogun 3 has downed one bandit, Shogun 3 has downed one bandit>>

    Tex
<<Congrats and all that. Shogun 4 is engaged defensive, request assistance>>

Eric looked out and spotted the other two Flankers went after Mark while he was low and out of position. Eric looked around for Ryu, whom he found above him and trying to get on his wing. Eric slowed and traded some of his energy for a tighter banking turn so he had a good angle on the J-11s. The pilot selected his AIM-9s and waited for a decent lock.

Mark's only reaction to the PL-9 was to keep moving forward, get out of its sight, leave some flares behind him. The heatseeker could only maneuver so much. He didn't dare go into afterburner, but the pilot had to hold his breath and start praying as the missile got close. Mark broke up quickly and threw his gaze skywards to sight the Veruseans. To his right, Eric and Ryu were bearing down on the bandits, giving them something to think about. He banked right, missile now only a memory, and watched his two friends dive after the bastards. Eric caught the J-11 as it was diving inverted and moving to leave after it'd shot at his wingman.

    Saber
<<Jukebox, get the number two if you can>>

    Jukebox
    <<On him, Saber>>

Eric depressed the fire button a second after, letting out a resounding "Fox 2" over the airwaves. Ryu started to bank right so he'd have a straight shot at the other Flanker. He slowed to get more time. As soon as he had lock, he fired. His own life was more important to him than any kills.

    Jukebox
<<Shogun 2, Fox 2...Where are those recon birds and that damaged Flanker?>>

    Tex
<<Ah got VID; will see to it they leave. Starfighter Ah think y'all got em in the belly; jamming isn't anywhere on my end>>

While Ryu and Eric broke off, Tex made a pass above the retreating J-11 and two JZ-8s. He didn't intended to shoot em, not if he didn't have a reason too anyways. His personal pride wouldn't let him do that. Vixen meanwhile was coming from the opposite direction of Eric and Ryu, As they fired, she ducked low and zipped under the engagement to make sure Mark had some help.

    Vixen
    <<Starfighter Lead?>>

    Gucci
<<We're pressing away from the fight and reforming our patrol patterns, Shogun>>

    Vixen
    <<Gotcha>>

OFS James Wellington, the same time...

CAG O'Neil felt even luckier he was on the flight schedule today. Instead of being up in his perch on the island, he was sitting in VF-138's CAG Bird on the #2 cat of the carrier, loaded for CAP. He was well aware of what was going on over the border to the west; word had been passed on to the carrier battle group in a timely manner. For now the carrier was tending to its own and getting up a few extra fighters. Deck crew scrambled around the Thunderhawk to get it ready for immediate launch.

    Admiral Dodge
    <<Good luck CAG, and don't be a hero dammit>>

O'Neil had to smile at the latter part of Carter Dodge's comment.

    CAG
    <<I won't sir, war ain't even started>>

He watched as the Cat Officer gave him the signal to move his control surfaces. The man threw around the stick and pumped the rudders at a steady pace until the yellow shirt was satisfied. Then came the time to go to full military. As the Cat Officer checked his path, Mad Dog O'Neil partially wished he could be in the thick of the skirmish over near Verusa. A record of thirteen kills during the 2010 war at the controls of an F/A-18C and the experience gained then sure would've helped him.

CAG stowed the brief thought as he brought up his hand to salute the Cat Officer. Instead they'd be reinforcing the western part of the battle group's perimeter. He threw the man outside the cockpit a salute when the way was clear. The man returned it, did his thing, and sent Captain O'Neil hurling down the track in short order. Close behind he had Lieutenant Terry "Bruh" West in Shogun 209.

Sharky pulled the Tomcat into a tight barrel roll to avoid the tracers coming up at him.  As they crossed the border he radioed,

    Sharky
    <<Did we get any secondaries?>>

    Shamu
    <<Not seeing any.  Radar's offline though.>>

Showtime's voice came over the radio somewhat sheepishly,

    Showtime
    <<Uh...  Boss I think we missed ours.>>

    Sharky
    <<Say again, two?>>

    Millie
<<It detonated early, and we didn't get any secondaries.  It may have hit a hill or someshit.>>

    Sharky
<<*audible sigh*  Goddamnit.  Well congrats gentlemen we get to invade Verusa.  Again.  Two, sling a HARM at that site before we cross over so we can get a bit higher.  Once we're in range, you guys nail those AA guns that lit us up on our way out.  We'll drop a cluster on ours, and then pop over to your site and hit it.  We're gonna hook around and hit them from the Good?>>

    Showtime
    << Two copies.>>

    Shamu
<<Horus Eye be advised, Serpents 1 and 2 are progressing BACK across the border to reengage HQ-10 sites.>>

Showtime fired a single AGM-88 at the remaining HQ-10 site's guidance radar before dropping back down to 500 feet.  Crossing over the border, it was a few minutes before they reached the 83rd Mechanized Division's position, at which point they off 4 Brimstones at the PGZ-07s and turned to join Sharky, leaving the Brimstones to track their targets with their IIR seekers.

Meanwhile Sharky and Shamu were already ahead of Showtime, having popped up to 1000 feet and dropped their first two CBU-103s of the day on the first HQ-10 site they had hit, streaming flares and chaff in their wake as they flew to join Showtime and Millie on the way to the second.

They turned to approach the site from the south, intending to scream north and across the border after their runs.  Both Tomcats popped up to 1,500 feet, lined up the pippers, and released a pair of CBUs each for a total of four before jinking and running for the border.

Once they were safely across, Showtime radioed,

    Showtime
    << Boss I REALLY hope that works.>>

    Sharky
<< Well the bombs worked fine, you guys just dropped early I guess.  We'll have to see what's up with the Brimstones when we get back.  Because we had a solid lock.>>

    Shamu
<< More work for your Monkey.>>

    Sharky
<< *sigh*  Yeah.  Looks that way.>>

Ferret and Hime looked down at their radar displays and realized the aircraft they had engaged were still airborne despite successful hits being landed on their opponent’s vertical stabilizers. Zack and Mao lined up for another shot and loosed another pair of AIM-120D’s to finish off their damaged targets.

<<Ferret: Canis One, Fox Three. Fox Three.>>

    <<Hime: Hime, Fox Three.>>

The pair proceeded to break off after their missiles streaked off their rails; the two pilots then conducted a pincer movement to flank from both sides with their heatseekers armed. Zack then radioed to Alyosha and Rein.

<<Ferret: Matchstick, come up off the deck and get their attention with an AMRAAM, Hime and I have these two, Rein finish the SAM battery.>>

<<Matchstick: Wilco; nosing up and sending a flirt their way.>>

    <<Comet: Copy Ferret. Comet Rifle!>>

As Rein’s JSOW glided towards the stricken SAM battery, Alyosha nosed up, taking the fight into the air against the J-8IIM’s still active. Alyosha quickly targeted and rippled four AMRAAM at two separate targets with two missiles each committed to his potential victims.

<<Matchstick: Canis Three, Fox Three Ripple.>>

Rachel; fresh off a kill felt the adrenaline coursing through her veins, her icy veneer giving slightly to her excitement as she brought her high explosive fangs to bear against another J-8II with Joan not too far behind with her own barrage. Rachel before firing, breathed some of the fire out her lungs while she acquired a better lock on a target; squeezing the trigger with authority.

<<Dragonlady: Dragonlady, Fox Three, Fox Three!>>

    <<Tabby: Unicorn Two, Fox Three!>>

Another wave of Mach Four plus projectiles shot away from the Falcons; a flurry of missile trails, engine roars, and explosions ringed around the Valley; the two sides escalating the battle’s stakes more and more.

Carlos heard the report of the SAM radars being destroyed. Humming along, he tracked towards the last undamaged HQ-10. Lining up for the bombing run, he Lased up the target, nice and pipping hot.

    Jetstream
<<One good move, deserves another. Dropping>>

And with that, a second SDB poped out of the Nighthawk's bay, silently gliding to it's target.

Ryoko Was not doing to well. She just saw her flight lead narrowly miss a missile shot. Though it was a miss, she could see the shock it had on the Belkan plane. She did not know if her lead was okay or not. This was when her own missile Alert went off! Two planes coming from her front just fired long range missiles! She only had seconds to make her response, and it's name was METEOR.

    Steel
    <<Rook one, Fox 3 Fox 3.>>

She was not sure if she game it the time to properly lock, but that was not on her mind. She saw One of the Finbacks get the bounce her Dazed Flight lead. She turned to engage the Bandit, when something worst happened. The Finback fired a heat seeker at The Belkan. The Back of her mind Rolled one thought...

    Others Before Ourselves

Words she heard over and over, and this time was no different. Kicking a bit of yaw and a lot of afterburner, She aimed for herself between Eisern 2 and the Firing plane. When she figured she was between enough, she deployed flairs, to give the missile a bigger target.

Come on...Look over here you Verk Bastard! It's a Yuke you want!

William's WSO, Dustin, witnessing the cluster bomb hit and obliterate their targets, shouted,

    Dustin:
    << Direct hit, Will! >>

    William:
    << Thanks. >>

Beatrix, not being able to see if her cluster bomb had hit, asked her WSO, Claudio,

    Beatrix:
    << Longsword, was it a hit? >>

Looking back, Claudio looked and saw the enemy search radar still active. He replied grimly,

    Claudio:
<< Negative. Site's still active. I suggest we switch to GBU-53 and take it out. >>

    Beatrix:
    << Roger. Switching now. >>

The two Strike Eagles turned, pumping chaff and flares to confuse any other AA weapons in the area.

    William:
<< This is Lautern. We're lazing now. >>

Beatrix got in position and pressed the pickle button. The GBU-53 released from the F-15E and proceeded to follow Will and Dustin's laser beam.

    Tut-tut, Alexander. You're getting sloppy.

The words of his own father rang in his head seconds before the missile exploded. If he had not evaded at the last moment, the damage would have been far worse. 'Why did I brake?! I should have accelerated! Shiest, Shiest, Shiest!' The second he realized his mistake, he hit the afterburners, but it was too late. The bogeys were behind him and missile lock warnings rang out in his cockpit. Just as the color drained from his face, a bright flash of light emitted from Ryoko. 'Flares?!'

Without even looking, he accelerated and rolled into an Immelmann turn, effectively turning his craft around 180 degrees. The second he received a lock on the Finback that took the pot shot at him, he fired two QAAM "IRIS-T's".

    Hund
<<Eisern Three, Fox Zwei, Fox Zwei!>>

Without waiting for hit confirmation, he rolled and deployed flares to avoid any enemy fire.

    Hund
<<Steel, not to sound cliché, but I think I owe you my life.>>

As the Ginnovers of Spatz and Katz flashed by to his right, Koplje 2-3's pilot turned to follow, his number two rolling left in a sort of high yo-yo, still above the Belkans. The flight lead spoke up over the radio as he and Koplje 2-2 fired quick bursts of 30mm rounds. The shots missed to his mild annoyance, but soon he saw the two pairs of BAF fighters were going head-to-head.

    Koplje 2-3
    <<Sir?>>

    Koplje 2-1
<<Go wide, then close on them when they merge. Maintain spacing, no collisions>>

The J-11s split completely, all on their own for a moment. There was little the FVADF fighter could do other than defend against the missiles that were going all over the sky. That was, until the Belkans were getting closer to each other. As Koplje 2-3 started to aim for Mia, one of her IRIS-Ts detonated above him. Like a shotgun, the fragments cut up the two tails of the Flanker. The pilot lifted one hand to the ejection rungs, and  pulled back the stick, running 30mm up into her flight path. After a five-second burst, he pulled the escape device with both hands and left behind his dying jet.

Kopljie 2-1 deployed his flares in strategically-timed bursts using a snap to the right to overwhelm the AAMs that'd been fired on him. He then dove down, inverted, and fired his other PL-9 at Arthur from almost directly above as the Belkans were near the merge. Koplje 2-4, lightly damaged by One of Arthur's shots, stayed low and fast. The pilot weaved back and forth as it passed under the meat of the furball and banked right to come around and hit Katz. The J-11 pilot lead his target and depressed the trigger for his GSh-30.

The lead J-8 for the flight that'd attacked Abyss and his pilots was quick to realize they were moving too fast to make this fight worthwhile. Though it may have been seen as cowardly by some, he wasn't going to make his men commit suicide to try and kill a few F-15s. The man used his speed to put a long stretch of space between himself and the bandits.

    Stuka 2-1
<<Stuka 2-1 to Flight, bug out. Get across the border; We're in a bad position>>

A line of affirmative calls echoed back at him, except for Stuka 2-2, who'd been jumped by almost the entirety of Infinity's CAP, it seemed. The pilot kept up his speed and made a hard right, feeling his jet buffet against the air. Drag pilled up on top of drag, and the pilot threw out flare after flare. He survived, barely. As the missile exploded behind, rattling him, the pilot kept up his run, and then bailed from the largely in-tact fighter.

Further away, Koplje 1-2 spotted the two Thunderhawks as the came in from nine o' clock high.

    Koplje 1-2
    <<Lead, bandits at our nine>>

The flight lead didn't look, but instead broke off from attacking Mark's jet and moved into the attack after a shot of countermeasures. Koplje 1-2 went up, flares in her wake, and started into a barrel roll. The delay it took to recognize the threat cost her, and secured the first kill of Ryu Itogara's career. Her flight lead also defeated the shot fired at him solely by pulling from it's vision in rapid succession.

    Koplje 1-3
<<Fedayor...bandit above me and Pisar and are unable to defend ourselves. Orders?>>

    Fedayor
    <<Standby>>

From the Verusa side of the border, the one HQ-10 site that was still active started painting Mark's plane to try and get him to back off. This went on until Showtime's HARM ganked the radar. The Colonel aboard the FVADF AWACS frowned but said nothing.

"Sir, 3rd and 8th Wings are sending traffic. They want to know if they should scramble more aircraft." His aide said, holding up a piece of paper for the man to see.

"No, keep them at bay. Wait until the fighting's settled down. Once the rest of the JZ-8s are across the border, minus the actual recon flight, recall our fighters." He replied.

Sharky's second trip, no matter how low, wasn't expected per say, but it'd been hoped for. The PGZ-07s that'd fired on him fired again, along with almost anyone who caught some glimpse of his jet or heard it. machine guns atop tanks, individual rifles, and a few shoulder-mounted SAMs. The SPAAGs that Serpent Lead had fired on exploded. Their CBUs exploded on a mostly abandoned SAM site, devoid of personnel and one or two vehicles that they'd piled into and run away in.

That's what it became across the board for the SAM sites: smart weapons being dumped onto largely abandoned machines, only random soldiers here and there falling victim to the shrapnel going every which way. If they hadn't been a threat before, they were certainly so now. BB guns would've had more effect on the jets above than the long-range SAM sites. But like Sharky and Shamu's runs, individual soldiers fired small arms at glimpses and sounds of jets. Garuda lead found himself greeted by a single SA-27 on his way out.

Damaged J-8s against missiles in good condition was a simple problem to work out. The one in a near stall simply disappeared in the fireball as it nosed down and fell from the sky, while the other exploded from a hit as it broke right. That left one, the one Aly had fired on. With an AMRAAM as it's opponent, it deployed chaff and used its speed as an interceptor. It moved against the AIM-120s' path of travel at him, positioning himself so they would have to make a physically impossible U-turn to catch him. The jet then slowed and swung its nose towards one Rein Carter as she fired another JSOW. The pilot fired his last two PL-12s before Tabby and Dragonlady's missiles caught him in his turn. Scored two for Dragonlady Chang.

Alexander's use of flares saved him while he gobbled up speed, at least enough. The sudden burst of heat from his afterburners wasn't the smartest move, and caused the missile to detonate, close like last time. The J-8 that'd shot at him slowed as it passed by behind, moving in the opposite direction of the Belkan. His wingman was coming around, positioned far ahead of Alexander.

The first shots between Ryoko and Stukas 1-3 and 1-4 were close. Stuka 1-3 had little time to break, or choose a direction, as did his wingman. The Meteors had just armed as they got close, and the proximity of the two J-8s resulted in far more damage being dealt to each plane than if they'd been hit by a single missile each. Stuka 1-4 disappeared while Stuka 1-3 sailed through, losing errant parts of its airframe. The pilot ejected before the fire crawling up the body griped him.

    Saber
<<Trailing Flanker's been hit, falling back and going down>>

    Vixen
<<Yeah I saw it off my right wing, Jukebox>>

    Tex
<<Sonuvabitch first time out and he gets a kill!>>

Ryu gave Eric a wide berth as the blonde went up and after the remaining Flanker. He watched as the Flanker tumbled down towards the earth. He looked away when it looked like the pilot might not be able to bail out. He made a turn to the right, craning his neck so he could see his six better. The last J-11 was still up and armed and even if the odds were four to one he still wasn't feeling calm. He spotted the jet as it went above Saber. Ryu kept his distance still to support Shogun 208's pilot.

    Jukebox
    <<Roger, Shogun 2-2's got a kill. Shogun 2-3 I'm still with you>>

Eric kept up his speed to avoid shedding all his energy until he was almost done pulling up and back to follow after the Flanker. He spotted it as it was at the apex of its maneuver to defeat his latest Sidewinder shot. The Osean rolled upright for a better shot; he didn't trust the off-boresight of the AIM-9X to be as reliable as a more direct shot. The pilot clenched his teeth as the symbology on his HMD-HUD started to come together for a missile shot.

    Vixen
<<Horus Eye, Shogun Lead, we've got one damaged fighter and two of the Photobacks limping towards the border at this time. Reestablishing CAP to watch em cross back over, how copy?>>

Vixen knew she'd criticized the UN earlier for their over-reliance on restraint, but like Mark she didn't feel right shooting a jet that was running in the back. The Lieutenant Commander looked over to Mark as he sat off her left wing. She gave him the "kiss off" signal and he split off to go down the cold leg of the new racetrack pattern.

As they crossed over the border to safety yet again, Showtime radioed,

    Showtime
<< Please tell me we don't have to go back.>>

    Millie
    <<RWR's quiet.  I think we're good.>>

    Shamu
<<Yeah, I caught good secondaries on that pass.  Well done, gents.  Crews may have boogied though.>>

    Sharky
<<So be it.  The missiles are down, the radars are down.  We'll deal with the crews eventually.  They're not our concern for now.>>

    Shamu
<<We should have Vic take a look at the bird when we get back.  I don't THINK we took any hits, but I want to be sure.>>

    Sharky
    <<Good idea.>>

With their primary objective completed, the two F-14s resumed their original orbit north of the border.

Circling back around; Mao and Zack confirmed their kills as the chaos around them simmered down to a dull roar. Their first victims of the war spiraled to Earth in a column of flames and atomized metal. Zack couldn't help but feel a degree of satisfaction. The J-8II put him at five kills overall; making him an Ace.

<<Ferret: Splash one Finback! Repeat, Splash One.>>

<<Hime: Splash One. Hostile J-8II is no longer a threat.>>

<<Matchstick: Good kills Bossman, Hime! Forming on your wing. By the way. Congrats my man!>>

<<Ferret: Copy and thanks Matchstick, Four. Have you shook it off?>>

Rein grunted as she turned her F-16G into the missiles trajectory; dropping chaff while making another grueling turn. The busty pilot simply replied with a stressed "Negative." pulling into another tight turn with a chaff/flare alert blaring in her ears. In the meantime Rachel and Joan had already reformed and began to hastily reestablish CAP. Clicking her mic over to Canis team's fequency after confirming her second kill to AWACS. Rachel called to her comrades.

<<Dragonlady: Unicorn lead to Canis. Reestablishing CAP. Suggest you do the same.

<<Ferret: Copy Unicorn lead; we are regrouping and moving to reestablish CAP at this time. Four is evasive.>>

    <<Dragonlady: Unicorn Lead copies.>>

Noticing the SA-27 firing, Will broke hard and dumped chaff and flares to confuse the warhead. Following this, the two Strike Eagles headed back north across the border, Will asked,

    William:
<< This is Garuda One. Horus Eye, what's the status of the other bogeys and our allies? >>

With a hint of uncertainty, Beatrix's WSO, Claudio said,

    Claudio:
    << The enemy's gone silent. It's quiet... >>

    William:
    << Too quiet. >>

With almost the same uncertainty as Claudio, Dustin, Will's WSO, said,

    Dustin:
    << I hope today's engagement doesn't escalate things. >>

    Beatrix:
<< It probably will. We should stay on guard for anything from now on. >>

The two Strike Eagles continued to head north. Will and Beatrix noticed that they were approaching bingo fuel and headed to rendezvous with Eisern Flight.

Mia banked hard as tracer and gunfire lit the sky around her, barely avoiding the damage the 30mm rounds could have wreaked on her, only to then heave a sigh of relief as the pilot bailed… earning her the first kill for Eisern Team. Although she kept her tone level and professional, it was marked with a sense of pride as she remarked:

    Trixi
    <<Splash One.>>

    Katze
<<Remind me to buy you a drink when it’s all over then, cause either the guidance on our IRIS-Ts has gone to sheiss, or the Veruseans managed to make better black magic then us.>>

    Trixi
    <<Pfft, doubt it. Otherwise I’d be insulted.>>

    Spatz
<<Clearly the Rusies don’t know what an IRIS-T is… otherwise they would have already died by now… they’re obviously ignoring the rules of our mortal world… the God of Death does not approve.>>

    Katz
<<I wonder if Hund is doing any better…>>

    Wanderfalke
    <<Focus!>>

Like Mia, Arthur himself had just barely avoided catastrophe by banking hard as gunfire flew above him, and thanked his ancestors as a Missile overshot him, exploding in the distance. Although the plan had briefly gave them a respite, and caused damage to one plane, and knocked another out of the fight permanently, the close proximity of the missile firing had worked to their disadvantage and only caused chaos briefly amongst the enemy fighters. Of the four of them, only Anthony was free of any pursuers, so he quickly took action and made a snap Immelman Turn to free his flight lead.

    Spatz
    <<Katze, think you’ll live without me?>>

    Katz
<<Well I’m not dead yet, just be quick damn it, these Knock-Off Flankers are a pain in the ass>>

    Spatz
    <<Roger>>

With that, he pushed his Ginover hard, opening up the afterburner as he then called out to Arthur:

    Spatz
<<So, you still want me to knock off being the God of Death?>>

    Wanderfalke
    <<For now… no.>>

Arthur anticipated his Fourth Element’s next move and quickly jinked hard, banking down and to the right as Anthony let loose:

    Spatz
    <<Eisern 4, Guns! Fox 2, Fox 2!>>

30mm canon fire filled the air as the Ginover then released 2 more IRIS-T QAAM missiles at the Flanker, Anthony feeling assured that finally he had the Verusean fighter pegged. At the same time, Mia made another Immelman turn, hoping to ditch the fighter that was chasing her. However, instead of keeping level, she climbed at a steady but rapid pace and deploying chaff to throw off a potential shot. Katze, spotting an opening called out:

    Katze
    <<Eisern 5, Fox 3>>

Detaching from the center of the Ginover’s body, the long XLAA Meteor raced towards the Flanker that no doubt had begun its ascent towards Mia’s fighter. At the same time, Katze dove, aiming her fighter towards Arthur’s Ginover, who was already turning to meet her head on. If all went according to plan… Arthur’s 30mm Guns would tear through the remaining Flanker and finally free Eisern Team up to properly do their job: Provide air cover for the ground teams.

(Note: I omitted Abyss and Infinity Team in this post purely because I am unaware which group is closest to Abyss and Infinity Team and wanted them to provide support... so let me know which team is closest to Infinity Team so I can add it back in. Ronin, just don't mention Abyss and Infinity Team in your reply, and then do an occam's retcon when I add Infinity into my post)

Father, just how do you expect me to be as good as you at boxing?
Alexander, that may be true, but I'm standing right here! You can't just let your opponent take pot shots at you!

'Why do I always seem to remember stuff at the worst times?' Alex couldn't help but ask himself that as a second missile exploded a little too close to his Ginover. He also was not pleased at the fact that two IRIS-T's he fired simply seemed to fizzle out. His memory seemed a bit fuzzy on whether he called the shots, and there was also the comment Ryoko made about how he would help his comrades, but now he had an entirely different matter to deal with.

He was essentially between two enemy planes, one far ahead, beginning to turn to face him, and a second right behind, but just turned away. In addition to this, his ally had just fired at the plane ahead of him. One might assume Alex would focus on the opponent directly ahead of him because it was already in his sights and his ally had fired long-distance shots, however...

    Hund
<<Steel, I'll distract and lead him to you!>>

Alex took aim at the J-8 ahead of him and pulled the trigger. Instantaneously, the 30mm cannon mounted on the Ginover's left side spun to life.

    Hund
    <<Eisern Three, Guns!>>

Alex kept hold of the trigger for a couple seconds before immediately popping flares, pulling up, and rolling to the right, effectively turning 180 degrees in an Immelmann turn once more. Only this time the enemy would be chasing him into Ryoko's waiting gunsights.

In the same motion, Alex would be facing the J-8 that was once behind him. Whether or not it turned to face him, he immediately fired two QAAM "IRIS-T's".

    Hund
<<Eisern Three, Fox Zwei, Fox Zwei, Guns!>>

Whether or not the IRIS-T's distracted the J-8, and whether or not the J-8 popped flares, he pulled the trigger and fired the 30mm cannon once more the instant after firing the IRIS-T's.

    March 27, 2025 (Local Time: 1102)
    Prvi Air Base
Northeast Verusa, 90 miles from Yuktobania

Klaxons blared, prompting the ground crews around about a dozen J-11Bs to go through the final steps to prepare the Flankers to scramble. Four were already near the way to the runway. The entirety of the 25th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron's pilots hurried out of the unit's building towards their aircraft. They hurried around the jets to ensure their were no glaring problems, but a total inspection was out of the question. There was simply no time. It was decided that 3rd Wing would be held back; the J-8 was not the plane to be employing now.

WS-10 engines whined as the initial flight of four began to take off, loaded with battle-ready PL-9s and PL-12s. The base was in constant communication with both the Colonel in his AWACS and the GCI stations as they watched the battles across the border. The ground-based radars were feeding them information, but they weren't going to cross the border. They would simply secure it, and halt any further UN violations.

From his command post in the sky, the Colonel watched as his damaged aircraft and the JZ-8s who'd been running interference crossed into the relative safety. No, absolute safety. If any UN jets shot at them, he would have Yuktobania and its allies nailed to the wall for it. He waited until he had a tangible amount of new fighters to work with before he made the call.

"Order the rest of our fighters to withdraw. Ostvetnik is cleared to engage any aircraft that follow them over the border." He spoke up.

    Fedayor
<<Koplje, Stuka, disengage withdraw. Ostvetnik is enroute to cover>>

    Koplje 1-1
    <<Koplje 1-1 acknowledges>>

    Stuka 1-1
    <<Stuka 1-1 acknolwdges>>

The lead Verusean in the fight with Eisern used his advantage and screeched for the border, towing with him the lightly damaged 2-4, whom had used the fact that he'd been fired on be a Meteor to his full advantage. A long-range weapon in a dogfight was a lucky break in his mind. The unfortunate one was Anthony's prey, Koplje 2-2. He broke left to defeat the cannon rounds, but was caught off guard by the addition of IRIS-Ts. There was no ejection.

    Koplje 2-1
    <<Fedayor, Koplje 1-1, we're across the border! 2-1 and 2-4 are across the border>>

    Fedayor
    <<Fedayor copies>>

    Stuka 2-1
<<Stuka 2's remaining aircraft are also crossing the border at this time>>

The one jet in the fight with the Ronin screamed upwards and seized on the fact that Eric was hesitating to shoot in lieu of getting a better angle. He made a long, fast arc over the sky, pumping out countermeasures to buy some time and using the approach of new J-11s to cover him. He jinked back and forth and ran for the border, escaping with some space and the knowledge he wouldn't be followed.

The J-8 that was behind Alexander ran for the border, but didn't make it before Ryoko took a shot at the jet. The aircraft pumped out chaff made a hard run for the deck, turning in to Ryoko's attack and shooting around her left side before rocketing towards safety. The one in front Eisern's number three took gun rounds, but only a few. Too damaged to fight but not so damaged it couldn't fly, the pilot eased from his position in front of Alexander and joined the mass exodus of Verusean jets over the border. The last explosion of note was that of one last PGZ being destroyed by Colonel Anthony.

UPDATE: ALL VERUSEAN AIRCRAFT HAVE CROSSED THE BORDER INTO VERUSEAN AIRSPACE. ROE FORBIDS PURSUIT.

    Eisern 4 (Anthony Amsel)

Eric let the J-11 go and turned to the left with Ryu to reestablish a CAP to the east. Mark and Vixen kept tabs on the surviving Flanker as it ran across the border and left them behind. The blonde threw the once hostile fighter-interceptor another glance before he turned to go up what now became the hot leg. His eyes also swept his MPDs and displays, looking for any problems he might not be aware of. Nothing; he jet was perfectly functional. Misaki's picture was even still firmly in place.

    Vixen
<<Shogun Lead to flight, check in with me>>

    Jukebox
    <<Shogun 2 is up, no issues I can see>>

    Saber
    <<Shogun 3 is up, no issues>>

    Tex
    <<Shogun 4 is up, all okay>>

    Vixen
<<Shogun 1 is up and okay. Good job everyone>>

Eric thanked her and settled back in his seat. he wanted to pry off his oxygen mask and let his face feel less constricted. Being able to breath well was better than that, though. The situation was still very fluid and he could spot more contacts off in the distance. Quietly Eric switched back to his AMRAAMs and wondered if another wave of Veruseans were coming to play. Did he have the fuel? Eric looked at his gauge; he was approaching "Bingo" status.

    Saber
    <<Lead, when's our relief due?>>

Vixen gave her kneeboard a glance and referenced a flight of MiG-29Ms that was due to relieve them. It was possible they would be pushed up with the border getting all unstable now. But without any word from AWACS she could only speculate.

    Vixen
<<Gonna be some time, Shogun 3. Low on fuel?>>

    Saber
    <<Getting there>>

    Vixen
<<Tex, if Saber has to bingo, take over here with Jukebox. I'll get Saber to a tanker>>

    Tex
<<Rog, Ah'm still pretty good on fuel myself>>

In fact Mark wasn't that concerned about his fuel. His biggest concern was Ekaterina right now. Not that she was in any immediate danger. He would be informed, he reckoned, if Tiger was under threat. However she was going to be all over him if she learned he'd brushed with death like this. He'd have to remind her he'd been shot at before until she relented and they were distracted by more important things.

Probably the most jittery was Ryu. It was like a fight in school; once you threw some punches you were charged up and looking to see who was going to come at you next. Like Eric (and the rest of the flight) he was watching the newest flights of Flankers as they spread out over the sky. The pilot quietly wondered what they were planning on doing. He felt himself shaking...calm yourself Ryu, calm yourself. Think of Nao Ishimashi or Shenna Shredd...or sing...

"Motorbreath, it's how I live my life. I can't. Live it. Any other way. Motorbreath! Sign of living fast. It is. Going to. Take your breath away..." He muttered.

As Shamu saw the pair of Su-34s that was to be their relief appear on radar heading south towards them,  he said,

    Shamu
    <<Sharky, backup's here.>>

    Sharky
<<Got it.  Two, wake up.  We're heading home.>>

    Showtime
    <<Roger that, boss.>>

    Shamu
<<Altair 1, Serpent 1.  Good to see you, gentlemen.  Heavy SAMs across the border are no factor.  There may still be some SHORADS left, though>>

    Altair 1
<<Spasibo, Serpent.  We will keep an eye out.>>

    Shamu
<<Nyet problyem, Altair.  Horus Eye, Serpent is off station, en route for refueling track.>>

With that the two F-14s turned north and headed for the refueling anchor and then Tiger.

Zack glanced down at his fuel gauge and quickly assessed his current situation as the four F-16's of Canis flight reestablished their CAP orbit with Unicorn flight. The six pilots could breathe a brief sigh of relief for now after making a clean wipe of the Finbacks that challenged them. Zack and Dragonlady then called their comrades for a status check.

<<Ferret: Canis Lead to Pack. Status.>>

<<Hime: Almost bingo fuel on my end, good on stores and gun though.>>

<<Matchstick: Looking a little thin on my end too fuel wise Bossman, I say we get a vector to nearest tanker and book it home.>>

<<Comet: I concur; dodging that last PL-12 put a strain on my reserves.>>

<<Ferret: Alright then Pack, let's get on home. Horus Eye, Canis Flight is off station at this time and en route to refueling track.>>

<<Dragonlady: Excellent work out there Ace, just don't let it get to your head. Horus Eye, Unicorn Flight is off station, en route to refueling track.>>

<<Ferret: Ah, come on Unicorn Lead. What do you take me for? A Belkan?

<<Tabby: You? A Belkan? Nah, my surrogate big brother is too cool to be one.>>

    <<Canis (All): *laughter*>>

With that, the victorious Falcons of the Third Wing adjusted their heading towards the refueling anchor and towards Tiger NAFB after a hairy but successful first day on the job in Tara.

    "Kon-Kon and Awoo."

Carlos Surveyed the area, giving his Battle Recording Suite, Getting as much of the Verusean side before he stealth'd his way out.

    Jetstream

Ryoko Watched the remaining Verusean Fighters Bug out. She Chimed in with her Wingman.

    Steel
    <<Hund, is your plane Operational?>>

She stayed fairly close to his wing, keeping in pace with him, in case a Verk tried anything funny. She Sighed under her mask...The fist mission was over.

    Steel
<<Hund...I think we can go home now.>>

She just decided to keep on his wing for the ride back to Tiger.
