    March 27, 2025 (Local Time: 1245)
    Tiger NAFB

Eric braced himself as the F-21 slowed at the far end of Tiger's left runway. The force against him wasn't as violent as a carrier trap, but he considered this kind of return to the ground much easier. More room to move. The pilot lifted up his visor and pulled off his oxygen mask when he was at taxiing speed before turning off the runway to let the others returning get down. Eric rolled straight for VF-138's revetments, where a plane director from the detachment guided him so the jet could be backed into place.

He could see the faces staring at the missing weapons; Eric was just as eager to congratulate them, too. They'd made sure the gear had worked and laboriously cared for the jet so it'd do everything it needed to do. As he opened the canopy, Ruiz was already holding up the "Remove Before Flight" flags that'd been on the missiles he'd used while he pumped his free fist triumphantly. Eric kept his head about him, though; the jet was shut down proper and the weapons had long been safed. Only when the canopy was up and he was dismounting did the celebration actually begin.

"Welcome back, sir!" Ruiz shouted, meeting him at the bottom of the boarding steps.

"Ruiz I could kiss you right now! She did beautifully! Killed one with a Slammer on my first shot!" Eric replied, shaking the man's hand. His Plane Captain laughed.

"Sorry sir, I don't swing that way! Plus my wife would kill me for having an affair!"

Other ground crew for Shogun 208 approached, shaking hands with Eric and exchanging congratulations. The ceremony was joined shortly by first Mark, who'd landed second, and then Ryu and Vixen. Ryu's bird was parked near Eric's so the two victorious Thunderhawks could be close together. Ryu couldn't hide the mix of pride and sheepishness he was feeling as he became the center of attention. Mark was among the first to shake his hand.

"Now yer really one of us, Jukebox." He said. Ryu managed a smile.

"Judgement by the Sword, Tex?" He asked.

"Judgement by the Sword, man." the taller pilot nodded.

Ryu was cut off from further reply when Scarlett and Tucker, one of the mechanics fro Ryu's jet, lifted him up. Ryu laughed and smiled. The truth was he was happier to have made it home than he was to have gotten air-to-air victories.

In the meantime Mark approached Eric, who was accepting congratulations from Vixen. The two best friends shook hands.

"Good job Saber, good job. Y'all did yer family's legacy proud." He nodded. Eric returned the gesture.

    "Thanks, Tex." He nodded.

Shortly after the things to paint kill markings on Eric's jet were brought forward. With a little effort, Mark lifted his friend onto his shoulders, Ruiz and a mechanic named Schneider helping. They lifted him up so he could paint two red stars on the nose, near the front of the canopy. The man then put his arms up triumphantly, still clutching the paint can and stencil. Today it was Eric Bradford two, Verusa zero.

After he'd painted his own kill marking, Ryu was eager to separate himself from the others. Not because he didn't want to be around his squadron, bur because he had business with the Osean Air Force. He ran, full stride, towards the space that the F-16 unit occupied, hoping to reach a certain blonde airman. He wanted to be the confident guitarist he'd once been, sweep her off her feet and deliver some cool line. The truth was though her Staff Sergeant would probably try to kill him. She already seemed scary enough the few times he'd poked around between now and meeting her subordinate. Nonetheless he kept running.

The two PMC Tomcats came into a gentle landing shortly after the Osean Navy jets, rolling towards their revetments.  Unlike their Navy counterparts, the reaction to the Basilisks' return was a bit more subdued, not from any dissatisfaction with the way the mission had gone, but simply as a reflection of how many times in the past they had gone through this same routine.

As the canopy on Leviathan came up and Sharky and Shamu climbed down, Victor met them at the boarding ladder. "How did it go, sirs?"

Sharky said, "Went alright, could have gone better.  Nailed both of our HQ-10 sites, also a few SPAAGs.  We're gonna wanna run tests on the rest of our stocks of Brimstones.  We had all four of ours go stupid.  Also Two's gotta go back to bombing practice."

Showtime and Millie, who had similarly dismounted from their aircraft, walked up.  Showtime spoke up, "That was my bad, boss.  Shoulda popped up higher."

Millie added, "I goofed.  Thought the bombs would have enough clearance."

Sharky waved the two off.  "It's fine.  Learn from it."

    Showtime and Millie nodded.

Victor asked, "Understood, sir. How'd Levy fly?"

"Great as usual.  That being said you might want to check her out.  We were down pretty low, and she may have caught a stray flak burst or two.  Just make sure there aren't any holes anywhere."

    Victor nodded.

Showtime said, "Same for Hollywood, Vic."

"Understood, sirs.  Er, Sharky, should I tell Irina about the Brimstones?"

Sharky shook his head. "No.  Tell the ordies to run initial checks on them after we get our ordnance downloaded.  I'll talk to her in a bit."

    "Got it.  Mission markings?"

"Ah, just stick a coupla HARM markings up there."

    "Will do.  Welcome back, sirs."

"Thanks, Vic."  Sharky and Shamu headed towards the squadron shop to put up their gear, followed by Showtime and Millie.

Shamu asked, "Plugged nickel for your thoughts, boss?"

Sharky shrugged, "I don't like wasted loads, Shams."

"More for Irina to look at, I guess."

"Yeah.  As if she didn't have enough to worry about."

Millie asked, "Boss, could it be an issue with the missiles interfacing with the jet?  Because we fired ours IR and they worked fine."

"Could be.  Hell, it could be the fuckin' weather."

Shamu raised an eyebrow.  "Seriously?  It's 2025, man.  Not the 60s."

Sharky shrugged.  "We'll find out.  Honestly my thought is it's probably an issue with the radar interfacing."

    "Poor Irina."

    Sharky frowned.  "I'm on it."

Also Landing With the Cats, The Aurelian Nighthawk Dropped down. The Grey jet somehow outpaced it's Escorts, and arived early.

"Huh..Only the Pirates and the Oseans. Must be early!"

His Plane Rolling to a stop, Carlos came to little fanfare, except his own.

"is this how the Yukes Welcome heroes? Wonder how they welcome there own..."

He Sees the PMCats and there Pilots, as he walks over and waves to them.

"So this must be were the rest of the SAM's went to. How are you lot doing?"

Olive Branches are the Aurelian way.

Upon landing and taxiing to the apron, Will, Dustin, Beatrix and Claudio stepped out of their Strike Eagles. Beatrix and Claudio told their assigned ground crew about the possibility of damage to their F-15E. While they were doing that, Will was thinking about the day's engagement.

Dustin, cockily says to himself, "Let's see if those Veruseans try something."

Will, showing some farsightedness, replies, "No... This is the start of something big. They'll be back."

Soon enough, Beatrix and Claudio came up to them. Beatrix informs, "The ground crew is going to do inspections on the Strike Eagles."

"Want to go and mingle with the others?" Claudio asked the three.

William shook his head, "Nah. You three go on ahead of me. I'll be there in a bit."

"Worried about the Colonel?" Beatrix teased. Her flight leader's face turned red, but instead of retorting, he simply nodded. The other three members of Garuda Team headed off to join the Oseans, PMCs and the Aurelian F-117 pilot.

Startled by Carlos's sudden appearance, Sharky said, "Oh.  Buenos dias, Lieutenant Colonel.  We're doing fine.  Good work out there.  I would talk more, but if you'll excuse us, we've got some pressing business to attend to."

Shifting his helmet under his arm, Sharky resumed walking towards the Rosenthal equipment bay.  Shamu offered the Aurelian a shrug of apology before walking after his pilot, followed by Showtime and Millie.

"Huh...Did not expect that. The cats are shy..."
He ended that with a wave to the PMC crew.

He did a quick look about to see the Emmerians land, and He also noticed the Oseans out and about. He tried to greet them with a quick wave.

Walking into the equipment bay, the 4 Rosenthal pilots began stowing their gear.  Wiping off his helmet with a microfiber cloth before sticking it in his locker, Shamu said, "Way to give the guy the cold shoulder, bro."

Stepping out of his G-suit, Sharky said flatly, "We've got other things to worry about.  It's not the time to be social."

Showtime asked, "Still in the zone, boss?"

"Something like that."  Shutting his locker, Sharky said, "I'm gonna check up on Irina.  You guys go do whatever."

"I'm gonna go talk to the ordies.  See if they have any idea for what's up."

Sharky nodded.  "Sounds good, Shams.  Showtime, Millie?"

The crew of Basilisk 2 shrugged.  "We'll figure something out."

Their gear stowed, Sharky headed off to the barracks to see how Irina was doing, while Shamu walked back out to the flight line, followed by Showtime and Millie.

Eric and company had a good reason to thank the Auerlians and Emmerians. They'd helped the CAPs by keeping the fighters relatively free of SAMs. Seeing as the PMCs had bowed out almost immediately, Vixen sent Mark to congratulate Colonel Anthony and Eric to thank the Emmerians. She also told Eric to tell Tipton and his fellow fliers she would come thank them after she went with Mark to thank the F-117 pilot. The two, still in full flight gear, walked towards the man and his stealth jet.

"Colonel Anthony, we don't usually do this but we'd like to thank you for your help today." Vixen spoke up, unlit cigarette already in her mouth for later.

"Yes sir, thank y'all. Don't know if y'all got the site that lit me up but thank y'all." Mark added.

Eric caught the Emmerians as they were approaching. He held up a hand in greeting.

"I've been sent by my XO to communicate our thanks for keeping those SAMs off us. She'll be along in a minute to deliver her own gratitude." He announced.

In the meantime Ekaterina was unfortunately being kept from running to her beloved fighter pilot and jumping into his arms by her own duties. The Intel Department was in a flurry, trying to get a solid and coherent picture on what had happened down by the border. Pilots would need to be interviewed, units on the ground would need to be reached out to, and maybe even wreckage sites investigated. Already it'd been revealed that the pilot of the JZ-8 that'd started the whole thing was dead. He'd died during his ejection, having gotten out a too high a speed.

Ekaterina was at her desk, talking to half a dozen other members of her part of the department as they relayed things to her. She then transferred them to a memo of sorts that the command staff would get a copy of, as would the squadrons. All the meanwhile she wanted to run down and make sure Mark was okay, and then make him tell her he was okay a dozen times.

"Lieutenant, we have a report from the Osean 25th Cavalry! They've offered to send scout helicopters to one of the crash sites!" A young sergeant called from his desk.

"Have them do it, and tell them to note whatever they can!" She replied. Thank you, 25th Cavalry...

Misaki, in the meantime, was a far bit calmer. She was at her desk, doing the duties of an assitant to a Colonel. The woman noted she'd gotten a message from the controller tower, telling her that the aircraft were back. She stood up and went to go meet Colonel Kusanagi. She resisted making a detour to VF-138; that was for AFTER she was free. She waited by the entrance to the base's central building, notepad in hand in case her superior wished to have something written down and couldn't do it.

After finishing his conversation with the ordnanceman, Shamu decided he wanted to wander around for a bit before going to look for Daciana.  Noticing the Navy pilots talking to the Aurelian Lieutenant Colonel, he walked over.  Raising a hand in greeting, he said, "Howdy Tex, El Cedar.  How'd you guys do out there?"  Turning to Carlos, he added, "Sorry for the cold shoulder earlier, Lieutenant Colonel.  We've got some kinks to work out in our gear, so my pilot was a bit preoccupied."

Looking at the Incoming From the Osean Navy, Carlos Gave a Wave over. "Hows the Weather North Side? And Nice to see you Fighter Guys having my back." His Chiming in got sidetracked when one of The Mercs came by,

"Sorry for the cold shoulder earlier,..."

"Not to worry. Though as you guys seem to have older equipment than I do, it's only Natural. Was wondering about the Other CAP groups. Thought I got a Few more SAM's than I did. Though doesn't help That you guys have A/B's on you."

He Gives a playful Shrug to the privateer. He thought his Nigthawk would have been one of the oldest of the Imports to Yuktobania.

"We fared well enough, though neither of us got kills. Saber and Jukebox are the victorious ones today." Vixen said, jerking he head towards their aircraft.

"I heard Gucci and the others talking about how the border looked like a cluster fuck when we were egressing, so I can understand why you might be confused, Colonel. Guy was going on and on about it. I guess the place got lit up pretty heavy all at once?" She said to Carlos. In the meantime Mark took out a pair of wrap sunglasses that looked similar to those of the videogame character Johnny Cage.

"Oh, Shamu, not that it's important, but Ah remembered somethin odd. Y'all and Sharky have crossed paths with me before. Ah'm the guy who told y'all to suck my dick when yah got mouthy after Ah got a CK-1 off yer back." He announced.

Shamu raised an eyebrow at Mark's statement, remembering the night over Sapin.  "That was YOU?  Well son of a bitch.  Small world."

Showtime snickered.  "So this is the guy, huh, boss?"

"Apparently."  Sizing up Mark, Shamu said, "You know, Lieutenant, I've never been one to reject a proposition, especially one made in such an unorthodox manner as yours, but courtesy suggests you at least buy me dinner before we get to the freaknasty."

Standing quietly behind his pilot, Millie snorted with laughter.

The sound of the Ginover's engines humming along told Alex his plane was running just fine. The damage taken wasn't too bad, though he feared Mia might have some choice words for Alex and his plane's condition. Making sure his mic was off, he began to mutter to himself, "Well, it appears that I need a refresher course in how to avoid getting shot at."

He flipped his radio back on to Eisern's frequency, "Did you guys miss me? The Russies sure didn't." Arthur responded, telling Alex to land before the rest of Eisern since he was already ahead of them and since he was damaged. With that, he flipped the Eisern frequency off and glanced to his left at his wing mate, Ryoko, who he flew alongside. If it weren't for her help, he might not still be flying. Returning to facing straight ahead, Tiger Naval Air Force Base was slowly growing larger. He turned on his mic, making sure it was only connected to Ryoko's Gripen,

    Hund
<< Hey, Steel? I'm going to call in to Tiger Tower. And... uh... I still owe you... for, uh... for saving me. >>

Alex couldn't completely dispel the image of his father rolling in his grave at the idea of his own son needing saving. Pushing the image back, he silently gulped and continued,

    Hund
<< I... don't know how to pay you back. But, if you have any ideas, please speak up. Could we just, uh, keep this to ourselves? At least for now? The last thing I need is my squadron to catch wind of what happened. >>

With that, he called in Tiger Tower for landing permission. When it came time for the pair to land,

    Hund
<< Steel, you can land first. I'll be right behind you. >>

Ryoko Kept Silent for most of the trip back, Keeping an eye on her Wingman. She was exhausted from the fight. It was not until they got closer to the Airbase that Hund, her Wingman Chimed in to her.

    Hund
<< Hey, Steel? I'm going to call in to Tiger Tower. And... uh... I still owe you... for, uh... for saving me. >>

She Responded with a dull acknowledgment. His Next message woke her from her stupor...

Pay...back...What? Is this what being a High Life Noble types think? That Saving someone is a favor? She had to say something...

    Steel
<< Okay...But I have nothing to gain for you right now. Let us just get on the ground? >>

[left]She Took the Landing lead ahead of the Belkans and Brought her Gripen down. Now She wanted to see him say that again, but to her face...You can say a lot when your not looking at someone...

Beatrix replied to Eric's gratitude with reassurance. "I'll be sure to tell my flight lead you guys' thanks. So far he's waiting for the Colonel to return."

    March 27th, 2025 (1315 local)
Tiger NAFB, Union of Yuktobanian Republics.
    32nd and 83rd Fighter Squadrons

The F-16G Block 70's of the 32nd and the two F-16U's of the 83rd came to a rest near their hangars after making an uneventful landing at Tiger. The rendezvous with the hippy-like crew of the KC-46A known by its callsign of "Kegstand" provided a much needed break in the tension for the pilots who had taken on a portion of the Verusan blitz head on. As the ground crews scurried around the lightweight fighters; the canopy of Ferret’s fighter popped open as he began to unbuckle himself calmly. The ever familiar forms of Fara and her subordinates stood at the foot of the aircraft putting the ladder in place to allow the Captain to disembark.

“So, you got your fifth overall PLUS you didn’t reduce my plane to a flaming heap of scrap metal. I have to say; that’s damn impressive of you Zack.” Fara snarked as she aided Zack in unhooking her belts.

“Another day in the books Fara, I did what was expected of me and my flight is intact as a result.”

“You know you’re allowed to celebrate, you’re the squadron’s first Ace in years you know.”

Zack quietly nodded in reply. He was never one to gloat too heavily about his success, but it wouldn’t hurt to revel in his triumph. “One thing to celebrate, another to brag.” He mused as he signaled to Mao with the fox ear hand gesture the two normally exchanged after a flight.

“Two Finbacks, one was neutralized and turned tail Cody.” Mao coolly said to her crew chief Master Sergeant Cody McCall as she descended the ladder, throwing a smile and fox ears to Zack as Cody followed her.

“How’d she fly Miss?” McCall asked.

    “Perfectly.”

“I am glad to hear it. Didn’t expect things to heat up so quickly.”

“Believe it now, we’re going to get busy.”
“When are flight ops never busy?” The blonde Osean laughed to which the Pointese woman guffawed in reply while she approached her now dismounted flight lead and lover.

“On the ground and victorious. How I like my Ferret.” Mao smiled, leaning in for a hug and kiss.

“Likewise Lieutenant, great work out there. Everyone is accounted for and I’m an Ace.” Zack replied, planting another kiss on Mao as Rein nudged him with her shoulder.

“Good to see my Captain and Hime are intact, same with Sharky and our Navy friends.”

“Always good to see our side without losses.” Zack nodded as Alyosha took his lead into a headlock, “Way to fucking stick it to those comedians’ man! I mean, at least one of us made ourselves useful. All I did was dent a HQ-10.”

“Hey at least your JSOW shot didn’t eat dirt.” Rein flatly said to Aly as she watched Zack wiggle around in Aly’s arm.

“You all contributed in your own way and Aly.”

    “Yes Bossman?”

    “Let. Me. Go.”

“Ah, sorry man. Forgot about that thing you have about touch.”

“More like you ignored it.” Mao sighed as Fara approached Zack with a bottle of Bacardi she had packed up when they moved from San Domingo to Tiger. Fara offered up the bottle and spoke; “Celebrate that fifth kill Weasel Boy. Don’t you be shy about it either. As I said. The first Ace in the entire squadron, hell the entire WING in years.”

Zack grinned as he uncorked the bottle, taking a healthy drink from it before passing it to Mao who nipped at it in merriment. “I want it in bright red. Make it visible that I downed that Finback. I want everyone to know when they lay eyes on it.”

Fara smirked, “Now he gets boastful. A Roman numeral good?”

“Hell yes it is. Everyone. This is where it starts. To my fifth kill, to the squadron, and to our war effort. Let’s see it to the end!”

“AWOO!” Shouted the mix of enlisted and commissioned personnel flocked around the fighters as they shouted the battle cry of the squadron. In the meantime, Rachel and Tabby watched on amongst the spirited group.

“Excellent work up there Joan, even if you didn’t get a kill.”

“I don’t mind, as long as I can keep flying kills aren’t a huge deal to me. Congrats Rach.”

“Thanks, I feel like we’re in for a long haul.”

“Same.” Tabby worriedly replied as the 83rd’s two other pilots; Lieutenant Corey “Thumbtack” Thummudo and Scott “Leon” Kennedy joined in on the small party forming around the Falcons. Meanwhile AFC Angelique Dubois received a warm welcome from Zack and the others.

    “Angel!”

“C-Captain! You’re home. How did she fly?”

“Wonderfully Angel. Thanks for asking. And knock off the Captain stuff. Zack will suffice.”

    “Okay. What about the weapons?”

“Everything shot right, missed a couple times. But I sent them to the ground.”

“I’m glad sir. Carlos and the others are a little frustrated about the news regarding the JSOW’s on Rein’s jet.”

Mao shrugged, “Murphy’s Law. Remember the HARM I launched in Sapin? Sailed right over the radar vehicle I was targeting and right into a barn.

“I remember that one. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing in my SNIPER feed.” Rein chortled.

Angel scanned around looking for the skinny Pointese twig of a NAVAIR pilot who had hastily given her a note before their departure, her heart swelled in anticipation of seeing the ponytailed pilot fight his way through the crowd to her. Hopefully a certain Crew Chief wouldn’t intervene out of protective reflex like so many times before.

Eric smiled and nodded. He offered a handshake.

"Anyways I don't know if we've met proper; there were a lot of people when we all came in. Name's Lieutenant Eric Bradford if we haven't." He went on, looking to make some conversation.

Mark grinned at Shamu's retort. "Sorry Shamu, but y'all gotta get slim first."

    Vixen only smirked.

In the meantime Ryu let out a long string of "excuse me"s as he tried to find Angel. He still had everything but his helmet on, which had been left at his jet. He looked like a mess, to be honest. His hair was mightily sweaty from the strain of the dogfight. He finally wrenched the tail free and let his hair flow unrestrained as he got close to the crowd. His face was a little paler from the strain of Gs, and he just wanted to take a cool bath, eat something unhealthy, and sleep the rest of the day with his headphones on.

It was important he saw Angelique Dubois first. Whether she rejected him, simply accepted his feelings but kept an arm's length from him, or tackled him and gave him tongue right there didn't matter. He just had to know what she'd said. The biggest thing that was bugging him was why in the hell he felt so giddy. He'd slept with girls before, he'd flirted before. Was it because she was busty? A metalhead? What? Gotta find out somehow...

Then he was only a few feet away from her. He felt like he'd just interrupted something almost immediately. The fact that he subconsciously transmitted "I'M WITH THE OSEAN NAVY AND I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL YOU AIR FORCE GUYS" didn't help. No one seemed to notice him, but he still felt like he should..ask permission to talk to Angel? Ryu shook his head quickly and blinked.

"Uhm, hello. Angel, correct? My Plane Captain should've run something to you before I took off." He said.

Shamu's eyes widened at Mark's reply.  His jaw flapped futilely for a moment before he protested, "I HAVE PA- wait, why am I explaining myself to you?  I AM PERFECTLY SKINNY THANK YOU VERY MUCH."

Behind him, Showtime and Millie snorted with laughter.

Shamu hissed out of the corner of his mouth, "Stow it or you'll be flying NOE hops until you're 60."

Showtime and Millie promptly assumed facial expressions most appropriate for mourners at a funeral.

Shamu turned back to Mark.  "Anyway, nice job.  In Sapin too.  We may joke around, but help is always appreciated."

Arthur watched as Alexander left formation and began his descent to Tiger Naval Air Force Base, his Ginover pockmarked with light damage from the near hits he received. Arthur heaved a thankful sigh though, cause all things considered, things could have been far worse. Looking over as one by one the rest of his unit began their approach, he began to already think of how to present himself and his unit on the ground. No matter how he sliced it… peacetime caused Eisern Squadron to rest on their laurels and grow rusty... and he wasn’t going to let that slide.

Before he began his approach, he suddenly heard a voice come through the headset,

    Abyss
<<So… looks like the Falcons of Tauberg strike out again.>>

    Wanderfalke
<<Dision… this was just the warm up.>>

    Abyss
<<Good, I don’t want to hear you moping about on the tarmac, it’d be unbecoming of you.>>

    Wanderfalke
    <<Are you finished?>>

    Abyss
    <<I had my say, that’s all I wanted.>>

    Wanderfalke
    <<Good.>>

With that, Arthur tilted the controls of his Ginover and made his final approach, landing gracefully on the runway before taxiing to join the others. Above him, Infinity Squadron soon began their approach:

    Holmes
<<Think you were hard enough on him?>>

    Robin
<<Yeah, a reality check might do him some favors in the long run.>>

    Abyss
<<He’s a leader, the performance of his unit alone should serve as his wakeup call. All I needed to do was drive the lesson home.>>

    Holmes
    <<Yeah, but.>>

    Abyss
<<Furthermore, browbeating would be beneath us.>>

Sensing the matter was over, Infinity Squadron reverted to protocol as they made their approach and landed. Parking a bit aways from the majority of ARIA's fighters, Abyssal Dision watched as the pilots of Eisern had began to climb out of their Ginovers and were helping the flight crew with removing the arsenal and doing post-flight checks.

Angel's eyes lit up as she saw the Naval aviator make his way through the crowd and approach Zack's jet. Her heart began to race as she thought of the words "I think you're pretty" written in Itogara's handwriting across the slip of paper she kept in her pocket.

Mao smiled warmly towards Angel with a nod signaling the the Airman to walk forward and meet Ryu face to face.

"Remember when we were young Zack?"

Zack grinned holding Mao in his arm, "Its adorable to see little Angel finally find someone."

Fara simply grunted in reply as she kept a watchful eye on Ryu and Angel. The honey haired Savalan-Osean swallowing hard as she searched for words to say but nothing poignant came to mind. Angelique then did the next best thing, putting her arms around the pilot and throwing him a smile.

    Mark chuckled.

"Ah aim to please, Shamu, Ah aim to please."

"Anyways if Tex is done humorously trying to confuse me on his sexuality, I do believe we'll need to debrief at some point. I know Mark's mistress will want to know all she can." Vixen commented smugly. It was Mark's turn to be wide-eyed.

"Hey Ah ain't into that, Vixen!" He protested.

"Sure, you're just trying to measure the circumference of her rear when she walks by. Every time she walks by. And that dopey grin you have on your face when she's around is because you had a good lunch." The Lieutenant Commander replied. She looked over as Eric rejoined them.

"The Emmerians accept our thanks and the like. Said their lead was waiting on Colonel Kusanagi." He nodded.

"We probably won't have much to do until she arrives. Either of you have any immediate matters that fall under my list of responsibilities?" Vixen replied.

"Ah got nothin." Tex revealed with a shake of his head.

    "Same, Vixen." Eric replied.

"Okay then. Again guys, good job. I'd expect nothing less from the grandson of an Admiral and the son of a Captain. If that's it let's let Jukebox do his little thing and the rest of us get outta this gear." Their XO nodded. Eric returned the gesture with a smirk.

In the meantime Ryu didn't have much to say that was worth anything either. His mind was a blank slate in terms of anything suave to say. He was honestly just happy to have apparently hit his mark. Something did come to mind after a minute, to his quiet gratitude.

"So any chance I might be able to play my guitar for you sometime?"

Sharky and Irina emerged onto the flight line as Eisern and Infinity were landing.  The two walked over to the Rosenthal revetments, where Leviathan sat in her berth with the radome and a number of other avionics access panels open.  Sharky asked, "How we lookin', Vic?"

Victor ran a hand through his dark hair and said, "Well sir, no airframe damage.  Although I did have to clean some feathers off the bottom of the intake."

Sharky chuckled, "Could have been worse.  They could have been inside the intake."

The Estovakian-Osean said flatly, "Sir, I would rather not think of that."

"I don't blame you.  So what're you guys working on now?"

"Well, the ordnance guys are looking at the Brimstones you brought back to see if there are any glitches in the seekers.  They're also running diagnostics on the rest of the ones we've got in storage."

    "Good."

    Irina asked, "And the radar?"

"Well, it's running at v2 spec, no obvious error messages yet.  Also good to see you up, Irina.  Sleep well?"

Irina waved him off.  "I slept fine. Any indications the FCS wasn't giving the missiles the correct data?"

    Victor shook his head.

"So it's a problem with the missiles then."

    "Looks that way, ma'am."

Irina frowned. "Hmm.  Okay, tell me what the ordies find."

    "Of course."

Sharky spoke up, "Vic, you see Shams?"

"He's over talking to the Navy pilots.  Showtime and Millie are over there as well."

    "Spasibo.  Monkey, wanna come with?"

Irina shrugged.  "Sure, why not.  I'll get to work later."

Sharky and Irina walked over to Shamu and the F-21 pilots.  Wrapping an arm around his RIO's shoulders, Sharky asked, "So Shams, you upholding the good name of piracy against these do-gooders?"

Shamu chuckled, "Something like that.  Also I found the Sierra Mike Delta guy."

    "Ohhh?"

"Turns out it's Cowboy over here."

Sharky raised an eyebrow.  "Well holy shit, small world."

Confused, Irina asked, "Wait, Sierra Mike Delta?"

Sharky explained, "One night over Sapin an F-21 ganked a F-CK that was being a nuisance.  Naturally I was rather incredulous at being saved by a puny tinker toy.  Said pilot replied 'Sierra Mike Delta,' as in..."

Realization dawned in Irina's eyes. "Ohhhh..."

Shamu sighed, "He seems to be rather reluctant to proceed with the freaknasty, however."

Showtime interjected, "He told Shamu to get slim."

Irina giggled as Shamu glared at Showtime.  "Oh, come now, Shamu, Daci doesn't seem to mind."

Sharky said, chuckling, "You've certainly come a long way from the pool."

Shamu sighed, "Are you EVER going to let that go?"

Sharky laughed, "Now what kinda friend would I be if I did?"  As Shamu grumbled in futility, Sharky turned to the navy pilots.  "So, Tex, right?  Guess I should thank you for that night.  That was a nice shot."

Mark smiled at the mixture of praise and rib-pokings; He felt right at home to be honest.

"Like Ah said, Ah aim to please. Though Ah wish Ah could say Ah shot him down cause Ah only got a probable for that Fuck." He explained, using the nickname for the F-CK-1 that'd started circulating around CVW-8 during the brief war.

"Anyways Ah wanna hear about this pool story, but that'll have to wait. Ah smell like Ah did after football practice." He confessed.

"Yeah me too, see you guys around." Eric said as he turned to walk away.

The trio headed off for VF-138's barracks; Eric looked back at the PMCs, then at Mark.

"So those were the guys you shouted "Suck My Dick" at?" Eric asked as he stuffed his helmet in its bag.

    "Yuup." Mark said. Eric smirked.

    "Tell em about Bodie's rants?"

"Nah, gonna save that fer a rainy day."

"See any truth in it today?"

"Can't say, was too busy with my own stuff, Saber."
